| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2015 | 6 In looking for material to cover for this month, I checked some of the past year's articles. Topics included: watching out for animals at the pool and to not feed them, driving the speed limit, being a good neighbor to the golf course, posting Garage Sale signs on your cars (not allowed per the new CC&Rs) and lastly conserving water (from July, 2010). Also listed in my July 2014 article: In January of 2014, Governor Brown announced a "Drought Emergency." He asked that all Californians cut back 20 percent on their usage. That was last year. Now we are in Stage 4 with a mandate of reducing consumption by 50 percent. I can tell you that it's not easy to cut back, but it is necessary. There is evidence that some folks in the community are getting the message, but not all. As mentioned in several past articles, Four Seasons Blvd. and World Cup are on recycled water and (for the time being) we can water those areas with no restrictions at this time. In the other common areas (Legends, Recreation Center), it's a different story and measures are being taken to reduce our overall consumption. The same restrictions apply to all Residents as well. Here are some of the tips available for viewing from the emwd.org web page: • Cut the number of days you water in half • Cut the time (# of minutes per station) you water in half • Use your outdoor budget as your guide. It's listed on your water bill and shows you the number of units allocated for the month. EMWD is asking for you to pick one of the above options and implement it immediately, if you have not already done so. There are 15 ways to save water on the same web page where its information came from: www.emwd.org/use-water-wisely. Now that you are aware of this, we also ask that you keep those same water saving tips in mind when using your Lodge facilities, especially the showers. Please don't let the water in the sink or the shower run longer than necessary. You are paying for this water too (as part of your dues). Let's be "water-wise" at the Lodge as well as at home. Please take the initiative to log in your guests, vendors, etc. at the front gate. Several members of the Access Control committee and I have witnessed firsthand what it's like at the front gate when it gets chaotic: several cars lined up waiting to get in, the driver at the front of the line has an issue, a very large truck is in the resident lane wanting to get in, then the phone rings (it's a resident wanting the attendant to log in their guest that's arriving in a few minutes). This scene occurs about 10 times each and every weekday. Please help the gate staff by going online and logging in your guests as soon as you can, at least 15-30 minutes prior to their arrival, allowing time for the information to upload to the Dwelling Live computer in the gatehouse. May you and your families have a safe and blessed Fourth of July. Remember our veterans! A Message From Your General Manager By Rick Ruth, CCAM Photographers! We need your help! Thank you to everyone who has been sending us photos! We still need more cover shots, though. We're looking for photos that capture the unique beauty of Four Seasons Hemet. Whether it be a stunning sunset, a beautiful day on the golf course, or a gorgeous garden, please send us your favorite shots from within the community. Please send in your high-resolution, digital submissions to hemetherald@yahoo.com. Be sure to write "Cover Photo" in the subject line. And if you take a photo of an event with people, make sure you have their permission to submit the photo first.
