23 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2015 | Memoir Class is for novices and more experienced writers alike, presenting techniques long used by fiction writers to craft compelling characters, places and stories. It shows how to apply these techniques to writing an unforgettable narrative. And, at the same time, have fun sampling great desserts. Please join us Tuesdays, 2 to 5 pm in the Art Room. For info., call Eleanor Rosenbaum at effieboot@aol.com or (951) 223-3375. Memoir Writing Class & Desserts TGIF The TGIF Committee is ready to welcome you back from holidays and vacations since they haven't seen you since June. August looks like a great month to get back to socializing with neighbors in the coolness of the Ballroom. TGIF will be held on the evenings of Aug. 7 and Aug. 21. On Fri., Aug. 7 the residents of the following streets within Four Seasons are our special guests: Duval Lane, Mann Lane, Mayfair Lane, McCarron Way and Eagle Lane. If you live on one of these streets you need to invite your neighbors to join you for a relaxing dinner with others from Four Seasons. On Fri., Aug. 21 the committee welcomes a new event: Game Night With Your Neighbors. Everyone joining in the dinner and fun is invited to bring their favorite board (Clue, Monopoly, Risk, etc.) or card/dice game or puzzle for after dinner fun and conversation. This will make for a memorable evening if you choose to participate. For everyone attending remember to bring a pot luck dish of appetizer, salad, main course, or dessert that will serve 8 to 10 people. The dinner gathering begins at 5 pm. Questions concerning the activities of TGIF can call Bob Morriss at (951) 325-8201 or bobmorriss@yahoo.com. Scrabble Brain games are just as important as physical activity; we are always looking for more friends to challenge us at Scrabble. Come join us on Monday afternoons at 3:30 pm in the Lodge Multipurpose Room. Book Club All readers interested in great discussions, occasional guest speakers and movies, join us the third Monday of every month. Our book for August is The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey. We will be meeting at my house at 669 Weir Drive at 2 pm. Hope to see all of you. Any questions contact Vicki Allen-Hitt at (951)926- 6336 or vhitt@hotmail.com.
