FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2015 47 Summer is upon us and we are all making the most of it. Pickleballers are still out in droves (20 or more) playing through the difficult weather. We are growing in numbers very quickly. We have many husbands and wives who play together in our group. It is really a great sport for couples to do together and with other couples. It is a fantastic way for single players to meet new friends. I am single and now some of my closest friends at Four Seasons are my pickleball buddies! From the book Fighting Gravity: "Set goals for yourself. Start your goals each week. Work out two days this week. Maybe three days the next. Start goals small and build on them. Just get out there and walk. It is good for the body and especially good for your soul. Remember there is no finish line in fitness. It is a journey that never ends. You will always be a work in progress. Growing old is not for sissies! It is crucial to keep up your exercise and not "part time" it. Maybe you can influence someone else to make a positive change in their lives. That is wonderful. Then maybe that person can help someone else ands so on and so on. You've started a chain!" Pickleball group open play time is 8 to 11 am Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. You may reserve a court through the office to play with your own players when available. Remember we share with paddle tennis. Some of our members have made trips this summer across the good old USA, exploring the riches of the west coast or enjoying the adventures California has to offer. They are anxious to share their experiences and hear about new areas that the club can put on their travel agenda. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 6 pm in the Lodge. We look forward to meeting up with our old friends and welcome any new or prospective campers to join us. For additional information, contact Ann Williams, annwilymz@yahoo.com. ~ Ann Williams All Seasons RV There will not be a meeting in September since a lot of us will be fishing and staying cool near June Lake. The next meeting will be Oct. 7 and we will talk about trips to mountains and future trips to Lake Cachuma, Huntington Beach, and other locations. Our trip to Julian was great. We celebrated our 49th anniversary with the Shepards at Jermy's on the Hill. Thanks to the Shepards for the wine. We also went fishing at Lake Cuyumaca and had only one bite, but my wife pulled in a three plus pound trout that was great eating. ~ Bill Guy. roadrunner RV'ers If you are interested in learning more about this group, please join us for our meeting which is held the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at the Lodge, usually in the Ballroom. Our monthly trip is always the third Thursday of every month. We meet in the north parking lot of the Lodge at 8 am. Anyone who has a four-wheel drive vehicle is welcome. Most of the trips are on State service trails designated for four-wheel drive. We do not do extreme off- roading.
