| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | September 2015 | 4 Message From the Board of Directors While considering our message for this issue of our Hemet Herald, we reflected on the many messages submitted over the years by our management team, our committees, clubs, support groups and individuals. In doing so, we noticed a common thread running through most of these communications. Either directly or indirectly, this common thread concerned building our community. Beginning with the construction of our homes and our common area infrastructure, and continuing through the creation of our operating committees and social clubs, together we have helped build our community as we know it today. Through all of this, we also recognize that none of us are presently one minute younger than we were when we began our adventure of living in Four Seasons at Hemet. This notwithstanding, there is more work to do, more things to build and your help is still needed. It is on this poignant note that we offer the following poem as our "ponder point" for September. The Builder I saw them tearing a building down, A gang of men in a busy town. With a yo heave ho and a lusty yell, They swung a beam and a whole wall fell. I asked the foreman, "Are these men as skilled, As those you would hire if you were going to build?" And he laughed and said, "Oh no indeed, The most common labor is all I need. For I can wreck in a day or two What has taken builders years to do." So I asked myself as I went on my way, Which of these roles have I tried to play? Am I the wrecker, who walks his town? Content with the business of tearing down? Or am I the builder, who works with care, That my town might be better, because I was there? ~ Anonymous We trust that this simple poem gives rise to the deeper meaning within. We all have our individual reasons for living here. Yet, hopefully the common thread that connects us all is the sincere desire to enjoy our golden years to their fullest. Whether we opt to be active or passive participants in our growth, by simply not being a wrecker we can all be builders. Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board, Tony, Greg, Ken, Russ, Jim and Gene Hal Townend, President Hal Townend, President
