9 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | September 2015 | Art League The next Four Seasons Art League meeting is on Thurs., Sept. 17, at 1 pm. in the Art Room. We will discuss the upcoming car show and street fair and our club participation in it. Following our meeting Royce Jerman will demonstrate how to work a Kumihimo loom art using ribbons. Everyone can watch her work but we are offering the first 20 people who sign up the opportunity to make one along with her. The league is preparing for the Oct. 24 car show and Street Fair. Many of our residents will be displaying their crafts and art works, so we hope to see you there! We will again have a table with a blank canvas for our residents to sign, design and create as a wall hanging called Be A Part of Art. We need volunteers to sit for an hour and pass out markers for residents to color and create a mural. Last year's canvas hangs in the hallway at the Lodge. This new one will also be displayed. Call Nancy Hawkins, (951) 926-2465 to sign up. Classes are continuing in the art room. Royce Jerman has two classes: on Tuesdays,Tole Painting and on Wednesdays, Tatting & More. The tatting class includes instructions on Kumihimo. loom art. Kathy Anderson will hold the next Greeting Card class on Thurs., Sept. 24 from 12:30 to 4 pm. You will create two unique cards to take home. Pat Hall will teach the Internet Genealogy class again on Friday afternoons in September and October from 1 to 4 pm. Sign-up sheets with fees, supplies and further information for all classes are in the art room. The artists represented in the Lodge for the months of September and October, Esther Feigenbaum and Marie Bowe, will exhibit their artwork. Feigenbaum's will be on the gallery wall and Mary Bowe will display her fabric art in the cabinet. Please stop by the lodge to enjoy their creative works. At the last art meeting we approved funds to purchase needed general supplies which helps sustain our classroom. Our treasurer picked up some much needed new table covers, a few easel markers and some drawing paper. Thank you Sherry Hutson for taking the time to do this. Our meetings are open to everyone. If you have any questions about any of the art league's activities, please contact Nancy Hawkins, Chair (951) 926-2465 or Barb Kenyon, co-chair, (951) 537-8779.
