Also on the double bill is comedian Chris Pendleton with her violin, in a unique comedy show called "Funny Fiddle." "The Alley Cats" bring a contemporary style to tunes from the 1950s and 60s. They breathe new life into everyone's favorite doo- wop classics. The four members of the group are a perfect blend both vocally and personally. Their comic interaction and tight harmonies make camaraderie radiate from the stage, bringing freshness and talent to a solid foundation of an a cappella tradition. Together they are truly the cat's meow! They've been featured on dozens of venues, including Disney productions, TV shows, and as opening acts for major performers all over the country. Their wit and humor have won over audiences as they relate directly to the crowd with jokes, stories, and audience participation that appeal to young and old alike. Harmony, humor, and unbelievable energy have made "The Alley Cats" America's premier doo-wop group. Also on the double bill is Chris Pendleton, one of the most original comedy acts working today. Her razor-sharp material comes from a unique perspective as well as a diverse background. Breaking new ground for women in comedy, she cuts across traditional boundaries, appealing to both men and women alike. Her surprising talent with the violin adds an additional dimension to her unique performance. Seamlessly blending hilarious stand-up comedy and fantastic music, "Funny Fiddle" is a fresh, funny, one-of-a-kind show. Mark your calendars now for our next production on Oct. 11, "Timeless Melodies of the Great Bass Baritones" featuring Steve Teague with his powerful, resonant sound, reminiscent of classic baritones like Howard Keel and Robert Goulet. Steve won the Metropolitan Opera Finals in 1987, and has appeared in many lead roles on Broadway, as well as lending his voice to TV commercials. Opening the show is Derek Cameron, an up-and-coming comedian who has performed all over the world, appearing on The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, and in USO shows for our military. Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non-resident guests. Doors open at 6 pm, and the show begins at 7 pm. Make checks out to Friendship Club, and drop them off at 5168 Rio Bravo Drive.
