| sun lakes lifestyles | sePteMBeR 2015 |23 As a little girl I remember my mother telling me "life isn't perfect" and "all good things must come to an end." I never understood this until Shirley Almeida informed me that she would be resigning as chairperson of the Memory Care Group due to health issues. Shirley began the group and has kept it going for the past five years. Thank you Shirley for all you have done for this group. Your hard work is very much appreciated. We wish you the best and hope you will be back soon. Our next meeting and caregivers support group will be Thurs., Sept. 17 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Our guest speaker will be Brian Singleton from Geneva Hospice. His topic will be caring for dementia patients on a whole new level. Don't miss this informative morning. The support group begins right after Brian. Diane Stone leads this group. Get well wishes go out to Larry Liebers who usually leads this group with Diane. Hurry back Larry. You are missed. Our patient group will meet in the Arts and Craft Room. This group is designed to help you, the caregiver. Just drop your loved one off and go on to the meeting. Enjoy the meeting and support group knowing your loved one is well taken care of and having fun..We play games, do exercises, have entertainment, and do just about anything your loved one wants. Our volunteers are loving and caring. They all have experience with Alzheimer's patients because they have had a family member with Alzheimer's at some time in their life. We care about your loved one. If you would like to learn more about memory loss and Alzheimer's and dementia, we have reading material we can loan you.
