EXCURSION SIGN-UPS: All new excursions are not released for sign-up until the first day of the month beginning at 8 am. If the first falls on a Saturday or Sunday then sign-ups will begin on the following Monday. If a holiday falls on the first day of the month, sign-ups will begin the next day. WaItING lISt POlICy: The waiting list is created by the Rec. Dept. for sold out events/excursions. This list is used (in order of registration) when the attendee has to cancel due to illness, doctor's appointment, etc. The waiting list is not used for additional sign-ups for secondary excursions that are scheduled due to their popularity. Contact the Rec. Dept. if you have any questions about either of these two policies. We accept checks only. you can register up to 4 people (including yourself ) per check per household, payable to sun lakes country club. All Recreation Classes, Excursions, and Special Events are open to residents only, unless otherwise specified. Due to some of the excursion refund policies, and to keep cancellations down to a minimum, we ask those who wish to sign up for an excursion to please check your calendar for prior engagements prior to signing up for excursions. REFUND POLICY: 1. Cancellations made 30 days prior to the departure date of an excursion or special event will qualify for a full refund, unless otherwise specified. 2. Cancellations made after the 30 day refund deadline are not refundable. However, if an excursion or event has sold out and there is a wait list, the Recreation Department may issue a refund if the ticket can be resold from the wait list. Thank you! eXcursIons eXcursIon sIgn ups: thurs., oct. 1, 8 am Cruise Of Lights Wed., Dec. 16, 3:15 – 1130 pm, $73pp, includes buffet dinner. The fun begins with a motorcoach ride to Huntington Beach. Every December, the residents spend days decking the halls for all to see as they cruise by. Hundreds of these exclusive homes, docks, decks and boats are adorned with twinkling lights, mechanical displays and Nativity scenes. There's no prettier sight than the reflection of the lights upon the calm waters of the channel. The narrated cruise lasts approximately 50 minutes and the boats offer inside and outside viewing. Bundle up, grab your camera, we are going to light up the holidays with an evening cruise through Huntington Harbour (cruise begins at 5:30 pm). After the cruising Huntington Harbour and taking in the beautiful lights and sights, our group will be in for a great treat. We will be visiting the Huntington Harbour Yacht Club for a fantastic buffet dinner served at 7 pm. Founded in 1965, the HHYC has played an active role in the community by providing a venue for many local philanthropic groups and offering a true yacht club experience. Members enjoy on and off the water events that bring a certain pride and togetherness to those that take part in their holiday cruises and boating events. Christmas in Bloom Thurs., Dec. 3, 8 am – 4:30 pm, $73 pp. Enjoy nature's own special beauty during the holidays on our "Christmas in Bloom" tour! You'll start your tour with a relaxing drive to Encinitas, the flower capital of San Diego County. You'll spend the morning at Weidner's gardens where poinsettias line the driveway and fill the greenhouses! A garden docent will join the group for a demonstration and other information about growing poinsettias. You'll have plenty of time to visit the retail greenhouse store where you can purchase fresh poinsettias to take home. After your visit to Weidner's, you'll travel to Fallbrook for the afternoon. From the moment you step on the grounds of Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens and Nursery, you will encounter a garden experience like no other. Under the shade of the live oaks, you'll be joined by a guide who will introduce you to the splendid displays of flowers, plants, gardens, and varieties of blooming color, shrubbery, and trees. Enjoy a farm-fresh organic buffet lunch made with locally-grown ingredients at the gardens and tour the Wild Bird Sanctuary, Butterfly Gardens and historic Fallbrook Barn. Browse the Farmhouse Gift Shop filled with distinctive, artisan-crafted gifts for the home and garden you will love. And to add to the fun, you'll have a chance to participate in a special craft making session where you'll make a table top Christmas tree to take home. California Christmas Trees Mon., Dec. 7, 8 am – 5 pm, $38 pp. The Reagan Library rests on a majestic hill overlooking the breath-taking topography of Southern California. The 100-acre campus, with picturesque views reaching out to the Pacific Ocean, lush gardens and a serene setting, pays tribute to one of the nations most beloved leaders. While at the Reagan Library, enjoy the fresh air as you stroll through the Library's replicas of the White House Rose Gardens and White House South Lawn, see for yourself why President Reagan felt so at home here. This year the annual Christmas Tree Exhibit at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum will showcase the great state of California! To a young 20-something Ronald Reagan, California was a place of unlimited opportunity, a golden dream for all who have the courage to dare.
