| sun lakes lifestyles | OCtOBeR 2015 | 37 Amazing, summer is over. Where did the time go? We now begin the fall season and the holidays will be upon us before we know it. WOW! Our current tennis board has worked hard to make this a year to remember. However, our time is quickly coming to an end. Jim Ball is chairing the nominating committee for the new 2016 calendar year. Please contact him with any input you may have and let him know if you or a friend may want to be on next years board. We need to keep it fresh and active so be an enthusiastic part of the process. The election of officers will take place at our Dec. 18 quarterly meeting. Like last year we are planning a fantastic night with Johnny Russo's catering the food and OT is providing the entertainment. Watch for more information and sign up early. Don't forget to get the check in the mail (lock box). Nick and Debbie continue to put on a wonderful first Saturday mixer with all the trimmings. Oct. 3 at 9 am will be no different. Be there to meet new and old friends, and to set play dates for the month. What a way to make friends and have fun. Oct. 17 will be our annual Oktoberfest and mixer. The mixer will start at 4 pm and the food and drinks will start at approximately 5:30 pm. There will be a $6 charge to cover expenses so don't forget to get your name on the list when it shows up and put your check in the lock box. Oct. 22 to 25 is reserved for the Women's Double Championship event. Bob Walter will be chairing this event so give him any input and help he may need. We are so lucky to have people willing to put themselves out there and run these functions. That is part of what makes this club so special. We will be having our annual Turkey Shoot on Nov. 21. Watch for more information as we get closer to the date. This year has been a pleasure to be part of your board. Working with such dedicated people wanting to promote Sun Lakes and Tennis. Please consider stepping up to take a position on next years board. You won't regret it. I know I haven't. See you on the courts and keep the ball in play. We play Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 4 - 6 pm, and Sat., 10 am - 12 noon in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom (normally). See the Events Board across from the Main Clubhouse Reception Desk for more information.
