| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2015 | 8 Health Matters Inland Empire Hospice soon to be… Question: What is the Arbor Hospice Home and how can I help support it? While the ideal hospice setting for most people is their own home, not everyone has the support or resources to pass away at home. The Arbor Hospice Home will bring that expertise of hospice care into the warm and welcoming environment of a home. Here, our expert care and dedicated volunteers will allow families to leave the role of a caregiver and resume the roles of a spouse, sibling or friend. Patients and families can begin to erase the fear of dying and nurture the strength and courage to say goodbye. The Arbor Hospice Home will have six private bedrooms with additional sleeping capacity so that loved ones can spend the night. It will have places where families can gather, an area for kids to play and gardens with benches and bird feeders. It will have lamps; not overhead florescent fixtures, soft music; not the beeping sounds, buzzing and hustle of a medical facility. Nestled in a quiet, tree-filled neighborhood, the Arbor Hospice Home will be the first of its kind in the Inland Empire. Most importantly, it will be a place of refuge, a place where each life is honored and each individual is respected. You can help support the Arbor Hospice Home by making donations and/or by supporting Arbor Hospice who provides the medical care to the hospice patient. With over 45 hospices marketing Hemet, and all of them coming from outside the Hemet/San Jacinto city limits, you need to know that you have the right to choose which hospice you want when the time comes. Arbor Hospice is the only local and non-profit hospice agency in Hemet/San Jacinto located at 890 West Stetson. All other hospice agencies are coming from San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Cerritos, Moreno Valley, San Diego, Murrieta and other far away cities. Patients and families need to know that they have the right to choose the hospice they want no matter what they are being told. Your physician may make a suggestion but you still have the right to make your own decision. You may also want to interview two or three hospice agencies to make sure you are choosing the right hospice agency. With so many hospice agencies marketing our city, the donations to the Arbor Hospice Home has decreased. With your help by requesting Arbor Hospice as your choice for hospice care and with your most appreciated donation; we can get closer to opening the Arbor Hospice Home. We thank you in advance for your support to our special home.
