16 OUR YUCAIPA | OCTOBER 2015 The Pumpkin Patch at Live Oak Canyon Christmas Tree Farm is ready for another wonderful season of fun on the farm boasting plentiful fields of beautiful pumpkins and squash. Families can pick their own pumpkins right out of the U-Pick fields. The shaded Picked-4-U tent has thousands of pumpkins and winter squash, as well as Indian Corn, Broom Corn and hard gourds for fall decorating. Entertainment is never lacking at the Pumpkin Patch. The Family Fun Zone features over 20 attractions for fun at any age. Exciting favorites include an Archery Challenge, zip lining, rock climbing wall, and the Eurobungy. Little ones will enjoy the inflatable bounce houses and slides, there are 12 to choose from. Games like the Duck Pond and Pirate Blaster are a guaranteed good time, everyone wins a prize. The Petting Zoo has baby goats, sheep and bunnies. The birds in the natural aviary setting are happy to see visitors with seed. Young guests can ride on the ponies where parents can capture a special photo. The Corn Maze is an all new Alien Adventure for 2015. Aliens have crash landed in the corn maze and getting out is a challenge that you must experience. Every night starting Oct. 2, the Corn Maze lights up with thousands of colorful laser, kaleidoscope and strobe lights. It's an experience for the whole family that promises to be out of this world. The gift shop at Live Oak Canyon has various decorations and gifts. The unique farm setting will inspire you to create a warm feel in your home or office. Every year they hand select the best fall glassware, hand blown glass pumpkin art, western décor, unique garden art, fun fall signage and colorful Dia de los Muertos items. There is a mouthwatering assortment of autumn food starter gift kits. Chili mix to jalapeño corn bread, beer cheese dip to pumpkin bread, they've got the party started. In addition to Halloween and Thanksgiving items, there is a dazzling preview of Christmas ornaments on display. Weekends in October, The Pumpkin Patch hosts some of the best performing acts around. The old west comes alive at the Cowboy Corner with the villains of yesteryear. Watch a shoot out in front of the saloon or get caught in a hold-up on the hayride. The Picnic Stage and Patch Stage offer music, dancers, and variety acts throughout the day. What's a day at the pumpkin patch without good food? They are cooking up all the faire favorites and have added some new food booths to the line-up. Come try some fry bread, corn on the cob, hot barbeque, nachos, and more. You can cure that sweet tooth with cotton candy, shave ice, or caramel apples. Gourmet lemonade, old fashioned sodas and fresh juice blends can quench your thirst. There are two shaded picnic areas to relax and enjoy all your treats. The Pumpkin Patch, located at Live Oak Canyon Road south of the 10 Freeway, is open seven days a week, 9 am to 9 pm until Oct. 31. Admission is $3 per person during the weekends in October. All other days and parking are free. Tickets for amusements are $1 each. Amusements are four to 10 tickets per attraction. Family Fun Zone only open after 3 pm M-F and weekends.
