OUR YUCAIPA | OCTOBER 2015 21 Water Filtration facility tour There was a great turn out for the September Good Morning Yucaipa with guest speaker John Covington. October's Good Morning Yucaipa will feature Assemblyman Chad Mayes with comment by Yucaipa Director of Community Development Paul Toomey. Good Morning Yucaipa is on the first Thursday morning of every month at the Yucaipa Valley Golf Course. Everyone is welcome to attend. Entrance fees cover the program and breakfast. Chamber members are $15 each and non-members are $20 each. The November Good Morning Yucaipa will have special guests Dr. Cheryl Marshall from Crafton Hills College and Cali Binks from the Yucaipa Calimesa Joint Unified School District. Good Morning Yucaipa The Yucaipa Chamber of Commerce toured the Yucaipa Valley Water District's state of the art filtration facility led by water resource manager Jennifer Ares. Attendees saw the underground part where large pipes transport water from outside sources and underground basins to a purification level, a process which makes the water cleaner than most bottled water. We learned that the highest usage of water in the shortest amount of time is during Super Bowl halftime.
