I love the month of November because of all the good food and the opportunity to give thanks for our blessings. For Sun Lakes golfers, we are thankful for the friendships we have fostered on our beautiful courses. Regarding the golf course, the grass is going into a slow period of growth. Soon we will be having very cold mornings with the possibility of daily frost. Our region has been known to get temperatures in the high teens. This is cold for turf as well as soil. When this happens the plant shuts down and goes into dormancy, causing very firm and fast playing conditions around the greens. We have raised the mow heights in anticipation of this but may not be enough to stop the ball from rolling too far. As the mornings get cold please check the website for course updates and possible delays due to frost and rain.
