We will light the decorated District Christmas Trees in the front of the Main Clubhouse! Afterwards, come in the ballroom for hot cider, hot chocolate, cookies, and holiday entertainment provided by Barber Shop Chorus, Tap Dance, Makua Hula Hawaiian Dance, Precision Stardust Dancers, International Dancers and a special performance from Spectrum Dance Studio in Beaumont. We will even be lucky enough to get a surprise visit from good old Saint Nick himself. So make sure you stop by to get your picture taken with him and let him know what you want for Christmas. New Year's Eve Party Thurs., Dec. 31, 6:30 pm – 12:30 am Mark this spectacular evening down on your calendar! The Annual New Year's Eve Party is coming around the corner. This year we will have the "Showdown Band" joining us in rocking the night away and ringing in 2016. You will start your meal off with some fresh baked rolls and a mixed green salad with spinach and topped with walnuts, cranberries and feta cheese with raspberry vinaigrette or ranch dressing. The main course will consist of Surf N' Turf with a top sirloin steak and two bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp. This will be accompanied by mashed potatoes with chives, lemon pepper asparagus and fingerling carrots. You will then finish up with a fabulous dessert. To top things off, you will also be able to enjoy a champagne toast when the clock strikes twelve if you would like as a bottle will be placed at your table prior to midnight. It's a wonderful, unforgettable evening of dancing and fun that you won't want to miss out on. You can partake in this celebration for only $57pp. Ticket sales for the lottery will start on Mon., Nov. 16 and go through Sun., Nov. 22. The lottery will be done on Mon., Nov. 23 and table listing will be posted by Wed., Nov. 25 on the Recreation Bulletin Board. Please remember there is a maximum of 8-10 people per table. Basic Spanish Class: Open Registration for 2016 Classes First class session will be on Fri., Jan. 15, 2016 from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the North Clubhouse (first floor) for registered students. This fun class is only for those with some or basic background in Spanish. With this class you will learn Spanish as adult learners with a lot of review and repetition of the content. In this course, students learn Spanish with basic grammar, phrases, vocabulary, and pronunciation practice in a supportive manner. Up to 30 students will be registered and others will be placed on a waiting list. There is no charge for the class but students must attend most sessions and follow the class protocol. There will be a clip board at the reception desk in the Main Clubhouse to register for the class. The instructor will screen all potential students prior to the first class session.
