CHARITY RESEARCH & BEAUTIFICATION: The Garden Club donates to many local charities and each donation that we make is carefully researched before a donation is made. We have helped school gardens, benches at Edward Dean Museum and benches right here in Sun Lakes. Our projects always cover gardening and beautification of a local recipient. Kids Cures were given plants for their garden project. We helped landscape a home that is being built for Habitat for Humanity. Our outreach programs are far too many to list. Come join us and learn about the charities that we have helped. SOAPS, LOTIONS, PERSONAL PRODUCTS: All those wonderful donations you so generously supply are donated to our local organizations that help those who are in need. Barbara Ely packages them up and distributes them. We do accept full size products in addition to those items that you collect when you travel. Toothbrushes, personal items of all types are welcomed. If you have questions please call Barbara Ely at 769-5659. BOX TOPS, CELL PHONES, EYE GLASSES, STUFFED ANIMALS AND SMALL SUITCASES: Are collected and given to the appropriate organizations. Happy Cookers Chorale SPECIAL TRIBUTE PLANNED FOR BOB JENSEN Bob Jensen announced his retirement as Director of the Sun Lakes Chorale during the Chorale's off-season. Consequently, we didn't get a chance to thank and honor him for his immeasurable contribution to the Chorale, the Sun Lakes community, and the city of Banning over the last 50 years. Bob directed the Chorale for about 20 years, was the organist and choir director for several churches in the area, and taught music, chorale singing, and Drivers' Ed at Banning High for 30 years. A special tribute ceremony, "Thanks For The Memories," will be held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom on Thurs., Nov. 19, from 10 am to noon. All Sun Lakes residents are invited to attend, especially past Chorale members, personal friends and neighbors, and even some of Bob's old friends from the city of Banning. Refreshments will be served. Please contact Linda Vieira at 797-0315, or lvieira@eltree.com, if you have contact information for individuals outside the reach of this publication, or if you have any incidents to share, so they can be included in this tribute event. The Chorale of Sun Lakes is off and running, as we prepare for our 25th annual holiday concerts on Dec. 4, 5, and 6. MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW! Tickets for the concerts go on sale in the Main Clubhouse lobby outside the library, from 9 am to 3 pm, Mon. - Fri., Nov. 16- 30. The hand-picked line up of songs includes all the favorites we have sung for you over the last 25 years. We're tuning up our vocal chords, lifting our cheeks, and singing these lovely melodies with our usual enthusiasm every Monday morning from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom, with sectional meetings at various times on Thursdays.
