| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2015 | 23 Respect people who make time in their busy schedule for you, but don't you just love people who never look at their schedule when you need them. That is definitely the dedicated MT people. They have been hard at work since early summer to ensure that the next production will delight you. The auditions have all been held and we are pleased to announce the following primary roles have been cast for the 2016 That's Entertainment Production from Vaudeville to Gypsy: Sheila James as Mama Rose, Lynn Lewis as Louise, D. Williams as Herbie, Ginger Burris as Dainty June, Marcie Tierney as Tessie, Martie Steggell as Mazeppa, Fran Rayner as Electra, and Larry James as Narrator. We are looking for enthusiastic Sun Lakers to help with scene construction and painting, costume construction or alteration, back stage assistance (moving scenery lightweight) assistant stage manager, dresser, house management, dress the tables for the production, and ticket sales. If you are interested in any of the positions above, please contact Director Pat Naylor, at pnaylor050@ gmail.com. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom, stage side at 1 pm. Won't you come and join your fellow Sun Lakers and share your talents? Hope to see you there. Mystery Theater & More Reader's Theatre has become one of the mainstays of the Drama Club of Sun Lakes. It provides a venue for the acting talents of so many of our residents who just don't want the tedious process of memorization and multiple rehearsals and yet want an outlet for their talents. Reader's Theatre as presented by the Drama Club was recommended first by the talented Harriet Briant and implemented by a committee of Drama Club members including Ken Brown who produced the shows and provided the outstanding sound effects. The shows were initiated with a presentation of "The Marriage Go Round" starring the talented Mary Shea. With this first sold out success the Drama Club has since presented two productions a year to sold out houses. Currently two short suspense plays are to be presented on Nov. 21 at the South Clubhouse. Doors open at 6:30 pm for the complimentary Wine and Cheese Reception with the plays beginning at 7 pm. As the South Clubhouse has seating limited to 100, reservations are required and are available from Harriet Briant and must be paid in advance. Harriet's phone number is 769-0383. This November's plays are "Sorry Wrong Number" and "The Hitchhiker," both suspense dramas originally produced for the radio but later adapted for the movies. Agnes Moorehead and Barbara Stanwyck both starred in "Sorry Wrong Number" to great success. The Drama Club production will be directed by Bob Bray, a talented new member of the club, who has chosen a marvelous cast of presenters who will keep the audience intrigued from beginning to end. Tickets are $8 pp. All residents of Sun Lakes are eligible to be members of the Drama Club and are encouraged to attend one of the meetings on the first Thursday of each month at the ballroom of the Main Clubhouse at 1 pm. One doesn't have to appear on stage to belong as there are multiple jobs involved in putting on a play from behind the scenes to assisting as ushers. More information is available from Sue Dunn the newly elected Secretary at 769-7552. Drama Club
