| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2015 | 35 2015 has been a wonderful year. We added a few more dances than we had in 2014. (A total of nine dances). When the club was formed we had only four dances a year. We also added the Main Street Swing Band along with El's Big Band. The board has tried to accommodate those who want a dinner dance each time with those who just want to come and listen and dance. (We had four dinner dances this year). We also added tables for dancing only when we have dinner dances. Everyone has a choice. We will continue in 2016. Our next dance will be December 3rd when the ballroom will be beautifully decorated. This will not be a dinner dance. There will be bar service and hors d'oeuvre menu on each table. Come and enjoy the start of the holiday season. Members $10 and guests $15. Early sign ups will be Nov. 18 from 12:30 to 1:30 in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. You may drop off your checks at 4932 Rolling Hills (north side). We welcome walk-ins the night of the dance. Have a wonderful holiday season. Here it is. Fall already after an unusually hot several summer months. We are ready to usher in the start of the holiday season at the I.C.C. with our celebration of the traditionally American feast of Thanksgiving. Doors to the clubhouse Ballroom will open promptly at 5:30 pm. Music for your dancing and listening pleasure by the Sophisticats starts at 6 pm and the dinner buffet by table call starts at 6:30 pm. You will find a carving station with real turkey breast, dressing and gravy with cranberry sauce, baked ham, sweet potatoes with brown sugar, mashed potatoes and green beans almondine. A dinner salad with ranch and Italian dressings will be table pre- set along with warm dinner rolls and butter. The dessert of pumpkin cheesecake with graham cracker crust and coffee will be table served. Iced tea can be found on a side board. Sign ups for this special evening are on the first Thursday afternoon of November at the North Clubhouse. $22 for members, $25 for non-resident guests. This special menu has an additional expense from the kitchen connected to it. However, your board voted to keep the cost to member the same for this month and also the Christmas menu, with the difference paid from the club's reserves. You can start rejoining for your 2016 membership at any time now. It is the same $25 pp. Anyone wishing to become a new member can join for the month of December and attend our dinner dance for that month as well as the new year. International Culture Club International Dancers 80s Plus Club Big Band Dance November, and the holiday season is upon us. Next month comes the mailing of cards, the shopping, the gift giving, the parties, etc., etc. But for now, for this month, we have the opportunity to simply enjoy a wonderful meal in the company of our nearest and dearest as we acknowledge and give thanks for our many blessings. The September gathering was catered by Johnny Russo's and featured great lasagna garlic rolls and a wonderful salad. We were entertained by the Sun Lakes International Dancers who generously and beautifully performed both Flamenco and Folkloric dances for the club. November dinner is a catered Thanksgiving dinner.
