25 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | November 2015 | The fall season is upon us. We can look forward to cooler (and hopefully wetter) weather. Along with more agreeable weather, we look forward to our friends and classmates that have been away from us this summer returning to our class. Time away is fun, but often takes a toll on our healthy lifestyle. So it's time to get back in the swing with your friends in Walk Fit. The Walk Fit Exercise Club offers you 180 minutes a week of low impact aerobic activity. You can tailor the class to your own needs and schedule. The full one hour class (three times a week) is a four mile walk, but you can join us for as much as will work for you. You can leave early or arrive later to shorten your walk. If you can only be there one or two days a week, that's okay too. New members are always welcome. Class schedule is Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:45 to 8:45 am in the Lodge Ballroom (for the full hour). Both men and women are welcome. We are free! Info., Karen Tuvim (951) 599-4236 or Kay Masonbrink (951) 223-3047. (CNN) New numbers from the Centers for Disease Control find that while adult obesity rates remain steady, they are still high around the country. In a state-by-state analysis, Arkansas, West Virginia and Mississippi were states with the highest adult obesity rates. Hawaii, the District of Columbia and Colorado had the lowest rates. While the Midwest had the greatest prevalence of obesity, the South was not far behind and was home to seven of the states with the highest obesity rates in the nation. Obesity rates have been steadily rising since the 1990s. In 2013, Mississippi and West Virginia were the first two states to ever report more than 35 percent of their adult population as obese. The APHG Team thought this was noteworthy to report and to heed. Our team discusses many subjects regarding health-related matters. Weight control is certainly one that we realize has many positive aspects in a healthy lifestyle. If you have any questions about our program, please call Dave and Karen Tuvim at 599-4236. Apples, Pears & Hourglasses Come and join in the fun! Our new Dart Club is starting up. We meet at 6 pm outside by the tennis/pickleball courts. Women In Touch (WIT) As many of you know, there is a very special group of ladies here in the community who have bonded together to form the WIT Team. This group of ladies all share a common bond… the loss of the love of their life. This group of ladies meets the first Monday of every month in the Bistro at 5 pm for dinner and lively conversation. After dinner, for those that are interested, we adjourn to the Craft Room for a couple of games of "nickels"… a fun, easy and fast moving game with a jackpot of nickels! This is your invitation to come join us and be a part of the WIT Team here at Four Seasons.
