19 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | November 2015 | September was a very good month for Team Sunshine. We did not have any memorials or Celebrations of Life. Don't get me wrong, our main focus is assisting with these but not having any means that no one has passed (as far as we know). We did receive very sad news that Dale and Diane Jones' son, Chris, died on Sept. 28. His memorial service was held on Oct. 10 in Brea. Chris left four young children. Team Sunshine and the Golf Club stepped up to the plate and collected donations for Chris' children. Diane and Dale are very appreciative of the kindness of their friends and neighbors at Four Seasons. Trish Egan, Bev Habig, Fabian Yaeger, Kathy Poss and Anne Balensiefer have been busy with cards and telephoning. Our residents who need a comforting note or phone call are well taken care of. We appreciate all the time and effort they put into being there for people in their times of need. Marietta Ruppaner and Cheri Hamilton are always there with their prayer team. The Prayer Circle meets once a month at Marietta's house. All residents are welcome. They feel that many of their prayers have been answered. The Immunization Clinic, sponsored by Rite Aid and Team Sunshine was well attended (see photo inset). 106 of our residents received their flu, pneumonia, shingle and TDAP vaccinations. Rite Aid supplied goodie bags and Team Sunshine served cookies and orange juice but only after all the brave people got their shots. We thank Dave Habig for being there to record our activities with a photo. Jennifer Trebler from Arbor House did a wonderful job of informing us about hospice. We are very lucky to have such a helpful agency in the Hemet/San Jacinto area. Hospice is there when we need them as Margie Culton can attest to with the recent illness of her dad, Jim. Our best wishes and prayers go out to him for a healthy recovery. There will not be Wednesday programs in November and December. In January we are having a big birthday bash for all our residents who have reached 90. If you know of a resident who has reached this milestone, please contact Trish Egan (909) 844-3852. Everyone is invited to celebrate with them. Cake is on the menu! The Car Show was also a great success. Team Sunshine always enjoys helping out with this activity. It is a big, fun day! We appreciate all the work Louise does in planning that day. Please fill out a *NEEDS* Form at the Lodge Front Desk if you know of someone who needs assistance. Also, our bulletin board in the Multipurpose Room reflects current contact and resource information. "A GOOD LAUGH IS SUNSHINE!" Team Sunshine
