FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2015 27 We're forming an interest group for dog owners at Four Seasons. The objective of the group is to improve the integration of the canine community into the Four Seasons environment. For additional information, contact Patrick at (951) 769-7626. ~ Patrick Gerety D.O.G. Dog Owners' Interest Group Medical Transportation Assistance Interest Group Four Seasons residents are urged to attend a meeting Nov. 5 at Beaumont Civic Center, 550 E. 6th St., where subsidized medical transportation for seniors will be discussed. The meeting will begin at noon (lunch will be served) and is sponsored by the San Gorgonio Pass chapter of Transportation NOW, a grassroots group interested in promoting public transportation. Mike Jones of SunLine Transit Agency will explain the taxi system for seniors in the Coachella Valley. Those wishing to attend should call Four Seasons resident Brenda Teeman at (909) 594-8487 so a head count can be made. Teeman made a presentation to the Beaumont City Council in September to urge introduction of a subsidized, 24-hour taxi service for seniors. Mayor Brenda Knight told Teeman the Council is diligently working on the matter and that the Riverside County Transportation Commission is interested in a subsidized taxi system. Teeman and her husband Richard have given Knight a copy of the contract the City of Walnut has drawn up for its system to serve as a possible model for Beaumont. Brenda Teeman said, in the meantime, the Kaiser Pharmacy in Redlands will allow anyone with a color copy of a patient's driver's license and Kaiser card to pick up prescriptions for them – saving a trip. The Teemans will sponsor a presentation on the transportation program at Four Seasons in January by Mario Janesin, a community organizer for the Riverside Community Access Center – an agency that provides services for people with disabilities. The exact date is yet to be set. Anyone interested in joining the Medical Transportation Assistance Interest group should call (909) 594-8487. ~ Brenda and Richard Teeman Pass Transit wants to hear from you.
