Ballroom & Social Dance Music and dancing makes most people feel happier, unless you cannot dance. Fear not, you can learn. If I am able after my surgery, I will do a beginners only class again. Watch for the January article to see when classes are for 2016. We are only dancing the first two weeks of this month, then we go dark until the new year. Dances will be lead by various advanced dancers. No dances will be taught, just dancing to known dances for pleasure and exercise. Turn on some music and relax or dance around the house. Any movement at our age is good for the body and mind. Wishing each of you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving. ~ Martha Franck 30 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2015 Line Dancing Dancing improves your hippocampus! Yep, we all have one of these little gems, and it gets lazier as we get older. In fact, it can get so tired that we just can't be bothered with anything new, difficult or different. It can get us stuck in a rut for the rest of our lives. It's the small part of our brain that has to do with memory, learning and emotion, and it must stay healthy to ward off forgetfulness, emotional instability, confusion, depression and most of all, Alzheimer's disease. So come and enjoy dancing with us. Help yourself to stay physically, mentally and emotionally healthy, and keep that hippocampus going strong. Our Christmas Dinner Dance is a perfect outing for the coming season, with good food, meeting new people and enjoying a variety of dancing.
