From student Sandy Buelna: I joined Rob's Monday morning drawing class in April of 2012, after a phone call I made to him. Rob asked what my past experience was. It was two pictures in fourth and fifth grades. He told me to come to class, bring three pictures in black and white and he would choose one for me to draw first. He did this so he could see what I could do. I can't tell you enough that I was truly a beginner. Drawing has given me a lot of insight, whereas, I see the world a little differently now. I have heard others say that they have no talent at all. I always tell them if I can draw, they will be able to draw too. You need to come with an open mind and try this art form. It is amazing how some fellow artists have not had any experience and have also surprised themselves. As for myself, I like to draw a little of everything to see what I can do. Some turn out great and others I put in my portfolio and count it as experience. The picture you see today is of a broken down eerie empty house with hot air balloons flying above. The house and field are in black and white, however the hot air balloons flying above were done in color. It's lifting, changing it up some. One of my fellow classmates thought it looked like it was taken out of The Wizard of Oz. I loved their take on it. What fun! So come and join our class and see what you can do. We are in class on Mondays from 10 am to 12 noon and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 pm.
