44 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2015 Racquet Club October saw the beginning of a new year for the Racquet Club. The annual meeting was held on Oct. 20, with election of officers for the club's committee, a review of the 2015 year's activities, and a hosted dinner. Election results were not available by press deadline, but the committee is sure to develop great plans for the 2016 membership. The monthly Play Days are expected to continue, but it is not clear that Howard and Mickey Nelson have any more dust catchers to give away. Recent winners received a tall carved wooden cat, a small ceramic dog, and more non-collectible compact discs. Though those prizes were somewhat cherished by the lucky winners, the highlight of the September Play Day and hosted lunch was the distribution of mock Tennis Magazine covers created by Howard Levine, each one featuring a tennis action photo of a club member. Unfortunately, the photos actually looked like us. November's Play Day is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 28. As that Saturday follows Thanksgiving, it should be a great time for club members and other tennis playing residents to work off the sluggish effects of turkey and all the fixings. Come on out at 8:30 am and get your move on. ~Steve Hovey Table Tennis The Oldlympics is a big sports festival for seniors. People can compete in 19 sports and activities. Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District in San Jacinto Valley created the Oldlympics in 1985 and this year over 560 people joined in the fun. Among those people were Pete Antoine, Lian Lee, Barry Pope, Niles Sundstrom, and Rony Tordesillas, all from our Four Seasons Table Tennis Club. Lian won a silver medal for her outstanding performance in the women's singles competition. Pete won a bronze medal for his great play in the men's singles. Rony played very well and won the bronze medal in the men's double competition, and Niles took the gold in that same event. Whether you are a medal winning type of player or a beginner, we would love to have you join us. You can find us in the aerobics room Monday through Friday at 10:30 am and Saturday at 11 am. Please contact Niles Sundstrom at (951) 572-5119 or Alan Chan at (951) 769-4202 if you have any questions or need more information about your Four Seasons Ping Pong Group. ~ Niles Sundstrom Niles Sundstrom, Pete Antoine, Lian Lee and Rony Tordesillas
