9 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | December 2015 | Art League The Four Seasons Art League had a good year with projects, presentations and classes. In March we held a presentation in the ballroom on "The Life and Art of Norman Rockwell"given by Stewart Mortensen. In October we put the "Be a Part of Art" canvas out for residents to doodle, draw and sign. It is now is hanging in the lodge for all to see. We had classes or workshops in photography, jewelry making, oil and acrylic painting, knitting, color, greeting cards, tatting, tole painting, drawing, cake decorating and Internet genealogy. I would like to thank our teachers who have continually shared their talents and time to provide us with weekly ongoing classes. We estimate that around 800 residents benefited from these inspirational endeavors. In November and December, on the Lodge gallery wall are the artworks of Gerald Gould. The cabinet display includes our featured artist for this month, Sharon Weissmann's creative works. In addition, literary works written by Four Seasons authors, Lynne Spreen, Howard Feigenbaum, and Jim Hitt are exhibited in the cabinet. Carolyn Lebo displays brochures which accompany her videos. I would also like to thank all of the demonstrators at our meetings Andre Lohnert, Royce Jerman, Barb Kenyon and our own Chef Francisco Aguirre, who showed us "The Art of Carving Food." Have a good New Year and keep on creating! ~ Nancy Hawkins, Chair, Barb Kenyon, Co-Chair, Sherry Hutson, Treasurer and Luca K. Wolfer, Communications Director. ART LEAGUE SUPPLY DRIVE: The Four Seasons Art League recent drive to collect art and craft supplies for children at Cawston Elementary School was a huge success. Our generous residents and members of the Art League donated over 3,000 individual items. There were coloring books, crayons, stamps, yarn, embellishments of all kinds, pencils, paints, paint brushes, and so much more. The kids were so thrilled to receive the gifts and were very thankful. We extend our appreciation to all who gave to the drive, and to those who helped with putting it together. The committee included: Mary Bowe, Chair, Esther Feigenbaum, Patt Gililland, Nancy Hawkins, Jerry Hawkins, Donna Holland, Sherry Hutson, Jim Hutson, Carolyn Lebo, Myrna Schmidt, and Carol Wakefield.
