| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | December 2015 | 6 December is always a special month for many reasons. Many activities are happening in and around the Lodge. Volunteers set up collection bins to benefit the Marines (and their families) stationed at Twentynine Palms. A tree will be set up in the Lodge lobby on behalf of the Salvation Army, and proceeds from our annual "Holiday Home Tour" also go to the Salvation Army. So many people benefit from the generosity of all you great folks! None of this happens without the tireless effort of an amazing group of talented, dedicated volunteers. I can't wait to see the Lodge when all of the holiday decorations are put up! This will be the second year that the Board approved funding to decorate the outside of the Lodge, Gazebo and our Main Entrance with lighting and colorful decorations. I encourage all of you during this holiday season to invite friends and family to come see the beautifully decorated Lodge and surroundings. We are blessed with many giving, generous people who dedicate a lot of their time to this endeavor. Please take the time to thank them. Or better yet, if it's been awhile or if you have not had the opportunity to volunteer to help decorate the Lodge, please do so next year. On a serious note: An item in the interest of safety was brought to our attention by a concerned resident. It involves the intersection of Highway 74 and Four Seasons Blvd. The resident and many other people he has spoken to have noticed that when traveling west on Florida Avenue in the late afternoon, the angle of the Sun can be blinding in the late afternoons. The issue is that drivers traveling west towards the light may not see the light turn red. This could be very dangerous for drivers entering or exiting the community. In the afternoon, when the sun is very low, make sure the westbound traffic has come to a stop before turning into/out of the community. As this year winds down, I would like to thank all of you for your support and allowing me to celebrate my eighth year of service to your community and to also acknowledge our management staff members who, without their collective efforts, would make managing your community very difficult, if not impossible. We are very fortunate to have a staff that cares about serving you and strives to do their best to overcome the daily challenges that come with managing a senior community. Those individuals who make this happen are: • Mari Salazar, Assistant General Manager • Louise Ceccarelli, Activities Director • Michelle Restle, ARC/Administrative Assistant • Lodge Attendants Brenda, Janet, Jim, Jamie, Tracie and Lanisha. We also want to acknowledge our Board of Directors; Hal, Tony, Ken, Greg, Russ, Jim and Gene who give many hours of service to this community and most importantly give us their full support. As we look forward to the holidays, may you and your loved ones enjoy the peace and blessings of the Chanukah and Christmas season. A Message From Your General Manager By Rick Ruth, CCAM
