36 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2015 Amateur Radio Club Thanks to the Board of Directors and the First Service team, the W6FSB radio room is virtually complete, lacking only a few remaining details before we go into full operation. The Radio room, also known as Activity Room #4 in RCN, will serve as the community's communication hub when an emergency hits. The HOA has funded the purchase of two base stations and two portable VHF/UHF radios to connect us to the Four Seasons communicators as well as the local Emergency Operations Centers at Beaumont City Hall, Sun Lakes, San Gorgonio Hospital, Banning EOC and the Riverside EOC. Additionally, the HOA has funded an HF radio that will enable us to not only make long distance contact with emergency services, but to relay status messages throughout the U.S. for our Four Seasons residents. From an initial membership of six licensed Hams and four FRS communicators, the Radio Club now boasts 13 Hams and seven members qualified to operate FRS radios. ~ Fred Weck, KK6HBQ Three licensed Hams (Alfred Blair, Rob Gardner, and Pete Hersey) using the new Radio Room equipment: Jewish Social Club We welcome residents who want to connect to Judaism, its culture, and celebrations. Members enjoy social, cultural and religious get-togethers, connect to other organizations in-and-around the community, engage in exciting seasonal celebrations, and attend Lodge and private home settings to taste varieties of Far Eastern and Mediterranean foods and drinks, as well as attend festive holiday neg Shabbat (dessert). We plan outstanding, joyous celebrations of events around Thanksgiving, the Harvest Festival, Passover, Purim, and Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. Members have attended movie nights, holiday celebrations, and committee meetings at private homes to plan events in Redlands and Sun Lakes, as well as meetings at our Lodge Card Room, on various occasions 6 to 8:30 pm. All are welcome. We have weekly programs with helpful information along with encouragement to keep you motivated to reach your goals. Recently we have solidified our format with a main topic each week. We start out the month with motivation, the second week nutrition, then movement and then other aspects of wellness. Martha Baumgarten leads our discussions and gets a lot of member participation! It is great to hear everyone's thoughts and ideas. So if you have an interest in losing weight or just getting healthier, come and see what our TOPS group is all about. You may attend one meeting with no obligation. If you are a member and have stopped coming, for whatever reason, maybe you should come back and see how we have changed. We meet Tuesdays in the Ballroom with weigh-in from 8 to 8:30 am and then the meeting is from 8:30 to 9:30 am. For more information contact our chapter leader and Four Seasons resident, Cathy Calhoun at (951) 849-2614 or Rosalee Strong, TOPS Area Captain at (951) 845-9313. ~ Cheryl Burke
