| Sun lakeS lifeStyleS | JanuaRy 2016 |29 Cruzin' Cronies We're a classic and not-so-classic car club that holds meetings on the first Saturday of each month. Since the first Saturday of this month is on a holiday weekend, we'll meet on Jan. 9 instead. We'll display our cars in the parking lot of the Main Clubhouse, have a short meeting in the Multipurpose Room, and go to breakfast at a local restaurant. There are no dues and no extra fees. We offer fellowship, story swapping, and laughter. We often have featured speakers, day trips, and attend larger car shows as a group. Come join us for a relaxing morning on Jan. 9! Info., Sandra Glickman, 267-3187. What is the Paisano Club, and do you have to be Italian to join? Paisano means "friend" in Italian and many people who join are of different ethnicities, but we can assure you we are definitely All American. We are a club that is about 150 strong, which meets on the first Friday of each month; we gather for a short meeting, continue with congenial conversation, dine like kings and queens, and then have some of the best entertainment Sun Lakes and local talent has to offer. The holiday party decorations were beautiful, the food was delicious and the entertainment, "Tin Man's Heart," with Lee and Michael Stone, was especially delightful. In spite of everything that has happened last year with the loss of some of our treasured friends, we were able to put our cares aside and enjoy a wonderful evening of companionship. The slate of officers for 2016: President, Clark Robinson; Vice President, Lou Syres (with the help of his wife Pat); Secretary, Mari Gluzinski; and Treasurer, Carol Choisnet, re-elected for 2nd term. Also, we have Jeri Wall as Social Chair (with assistance of her sister, Mari); Decorating Chair, Jeannette Cadmus, and her remarkable crew of about 20, and Food Connoisseur, Provi Donadio, who helped cater to our needs since the club's inception, July 2010. We thank Vicki Rawson, our gracious VP for two years, who has retired from this position. Janet Contreras, Lifestyles editor, will continue for awhile in this capacity. The articles that she has written every month for the last TWO YEARS, has helped our club to grow substantially. We give a shout out to Marie Grinceri, Sunshine Chair, and her husband, Pete, who makes the coffee faithfully each month. Also to Vic Airo, Grace Grinceri, and Ramona Albertine our 50/50 experts. Ramona is one of the original Paisano founders, who has become our club historian. Carolyn Wright and Darlene Moxon were greeters each month and helped our members find their assigned seating. Judy Garthwaite, President Pro Temp, will be Membership Chair. To rejoin the Paisano Club or to become a new member, bring checks for $15 each to the drop-off box at 5336 Breckenridge Ave. We are dark in January. February, however, is a special month full of love and chocolate. No matter what your status, come and join us for a delightful evening with caring people and be sure to wear red, the color of love. The meeting will be held on Fri., Feb. 5, in the South Clubhouse. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the price is $15 pp. We will have another delicious meal with two entrees and naturally a chocolate dessert. Coffee and water will be provided, and you are welcome to BYOB. "Radio Flyers," with their wonderful harmony, will be our entertainment. Please drop checks off to Provi, 630 Twin Lakes Dr., or call her at 845-1601. Need more information regarding the Paisano Club? Call Clark Robinson, President, 797-0597, who will enjoy telling you about this wonderful group. The Paisano Club where everyone is welcome and all are considered friends! Paisano Club Bible Study Our Bible study group is non- denominational. All are welcome. We meet together every week for fellowship and study. On the first Wednesday of each month we meet for dinner before our regular meeting. Reservations for dinner are taken in the meeting the last Wednesday of each month. Bring your Bible, any version, and listen to or participate in our discussion of the evening topic. We're all learning together. We'd be delighted if you'd join us. We meet Wednesdays at 7 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room.
