Happy new year from the Art League!
The next General Meeting is Sun., Jan. 17, at 2 pm at the South
Clubhouse. Sun Lakes artist Marge Amstadter will demonstrate
drawing with colored pencils and charcoal. Hope to see you there!
The Art League will present a one-day workshop on Monday,
January 11, with pastel artist Steve McGill. The class will be held in
the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room from 9 am to 1 pm (with
a break for lunch). The cost is $25 for members/non-members.

to Vera Thaxton at least 5 days prior to the class.
The Art League elected its 2016 officers at the November
General Meeting. They are as follows:
Jerry Searcy, President; Vera Thaxton, 1st Vice President; Debbie
Waddell, 2nd Vice President; Christina Smithburg, Secretary; and
Suzanne Plaza, Treasurer. Congratulations to all the new officers!
The winners of the mini-show at the November meeting were
as follows: 1st: Bea DiMatteo; 2nd: Joann Quigley; 3rd: Marge
Amstadter; Best of Show: Joann Quigley. The first, second and
third place winners were chosen by all those at the meeting. The
Best of Show was chosen by the demo artist, Steve McGill.
All Sun Lakes residents are invited to join the Art League. The
2016 dues will remain at $15 per year. For more information, please
