Let's just hope and pray that we have the patience and knowledge to cope with whatever is thrown our way. And let's enjoy all the good stuff. Our next meeting and caregivers support group will be Thurs., Jan. 21 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Our guest speaker will be Lisa Ramsey. Lisa is CEO and founder of Medi-Cal Consulting Services, Inc. She will present eligibility requirements for obtaining Medi-Cal benefits, share of cost, and countable and non- countable assets. This information is helpful for future applicants, and family members who are seeking relief for medical costs. Lisa will guide us through the eligibility qualification process. Our patient group will meet in the Arts and Crafts Room. This group is designed to help you, the caregiver. Just drop your loved one off and go on to the meeting. Enjoy the meeting and support group knowing your loved one is well taken care of and having fun. We play games, do exercises, have entertainment and do just about anything your loved one wants. Living up to its promise to bring outstanding productions to our community, the Friendship Club presents its first show of 2016 on Sun., Jan. 10, featuring 35 talented youngsters from the All-American Boys Chorus. The AABC is America's quintessential professional boys' chorus. The nonprofit group, based in Costa Mesa CA, serves boys ages 8 to 15 of all races, faiths, nationalities, and ethnic origins, and is one of the most widely-traveled choirs in the world. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Wesley Martin, the AABC provides boys with comprehensive musical training and unsurpassed performance and touring opportunities. With their sweet, angelic voices, the boys have performed live, on stage with glittering celebrities, including John Williams, Josh Groban, Bob Hope, Victor Borge, Steve Allen, Della Reese, Melissa Manchester, and John Schneider. They've been featured in commercials, at Disneyland, and on news shows all over the country. The vision of the AABC is to have a positive impact on our community, our nation, and the world. Its goals include becoming the pre-eminent program of choral music for boys, preserving America's musical heritage, and developing responsible and dedicated leaders. The Chorus has performed to standing ovations on 53 concert tours throughout the world making them true musical ambassadors. The boys are trained to give of themselves through their superb musical artistry and community outreach, to understand the connection between hard work and success, and to serve as splendid examples to other youngsters. The All-American Boys Chorus is a model of what young people can do. Tickets for this remarkable show are $20 for members, $25 for non-resident guests. Doors open at 6 pm, and the show begins at 7 pm. Make checks out to Friendship Club, and drop them off at 5168 Rio Bravo Drive.
