But what the Chamber really consists of is; • Meeting wonderful business owners, all making a difference • Introducing a community to these wonderful business owners and vendors • Promoting and supporting the local businesses • The decision making and camaraderie with co-ambassadors and directors • And watching our community and surrounding communities come together and enjoy our festivals and knowing that, you had just a small part in making it happen Why do I do it? Because I love this city, I love the small businesses of Yucaipa, and I love the people of Yucaipa and together we are making it great! Message from the President – Amy Minjares With my first year as President/CEO under my belt, I have had a chance to reflect back on this very busy year. The Yucaipa community has been very welcoming to me and I truly appreciate all of the wonderful folks that I have been blessed to have met and work with this year. It has made my job that much more enjoyable. We are a very active and event driven Chamber of Commerce. I have learned a variety of new skills and have had the opportunity to strengthen the partnerships within the business community including local, state and federal government agencies, as well. My hope is to continue this trend while growing the membership and increasing the benefits that the Chamber has to offer. My staff, board of directors, ambassadors and volunteers are an invaluable asset to the Chamber of Commerce. I am thankful to have all of them as partners in this non-profit organization. I came across this quote several years ago and I believe it is a great summarization. "Volunteers have style. They are fiercely independent. If you have to ask how much they cost, you can't afford them. They are part of an aristocratic era that is disappearing from the American scene, a luxury in a world that has become very practical. They are the only human beings on the face of this earth who reflect this nation's compassion, unselfishness, caring patience, need, and love for one another. Their very presence transcends politics, religion, and ethnic backgrounds. They are too often taken for granted. It frightens me to imagine what the world would be like without them." ~ Erma Bombeck We wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2016!
