The perspective of the Artist of the Month Diane Hatchett: When I moved to Four Seasons last May, I heard about the Art class held in the Lodge every week and jointed in July. I feel I do have some natural talent and have been involved in art for most of my life. Although I hadn't had extensive training at the time, after college, I did get a job in retail advertising for newsprint. Some unexpected turns in my life caused me to put my art on a back shelf. Eventually, I lost confidence in my abilities. When I first came to Rob Kelman's class, I didn't know what to expect. I'd just about forgotten the simple techniques of sketching. I told Rob I was rusty. He is an excellent teacher and with his knowledge, patience and challenge to be open to new ideas, he shows me every week how to rebuild my confidence and to expand my creative views. He does this for every new student who joins the class, whether they are a rusty artist like me or just discovering their curiosity about art for the first time. We are a friendly, cheerful group and I think we all look forward to coming to class each week to share our creative journey. Please join us to begin yours. If you want to discover your skills and your sense of observation, come and join our class. We meet Mondays 10 am - 12 noon and/ or Wednesdays 6 - 8 pm. Any questions about either class, feel free to call Rob Kelman at (951) 992-9156 or (602)571-0414. ~ Rob Kelman FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2016 35 LGBS will resume meetings at the Lodge Ballroom on Tuesday, Jan. 12 from 7 to 8 pm. Doc Sellars will be facilitating a six week bible study series on The Holy Spirit. We will primarily focus our attention on the Book of Acts, and the apostle Paul's teachings on the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is our hope that we can develop a fresh understanding of the role of the Third Person of the Trinity in our Christian lives. We strongly encourage participation so that we can learn from each other. ALL are welcome! Please contact Doc or Letha Sellars at (951) 797-3302 or docletha72@gmail.com with any questions or comments. Blessings in Christ! ~ Doc Sellars Life Guide Bible Study Wow! It's hard to believe, but we are now beginning our third year of the "Believe…" Women's Bible Study! We have had a great two years, have learned from each other, have grown closer as a group, and have witnessed God's hand in our lives. We are so blessed to be part of such an amazing group of women who love the Lord and His Word. In December we completed our 2015 study of "A Godly Woman is…" with the last three topics of Obedient, Bible-loving and God- loving. On Nov. 20 we drew names anonymously for a Secret Sister Project, where we left treats, gifts, etc. for our Secret Sister on her doorstep. We all had such a great time trying to tiptoe to the door without being caught or the police called! At our Christmas party on December 18 we had the big reveal, amidst surprises and hugs. It was so fun! Afterward we had a potluck luncheon (Wow! Can these women cook!) followed by a short Christmas program. It was a beautiful day, and everyone had a wonderful time. No meetings were held on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Obviously! We will resume our studies on Jan. 8, at 10:30 am in the first section of the ballroom. At that time 2016's study guide will be introduced and a new updated roster will be handed out as well. All you beautiful women out there who have wondered if you should come join us, the answer is a resounding "YES!" There is no homework, we all leave uplifted and energized, and the women in the group are kind, loving and simply amazing! It's a non-denominational study of the Bible, and any Bible translation is acceptable. Please, come and join us! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believe…" Women's Bible Study Creative Drawing & Sketching Class Work by the Artist of the Month Diane Hatchett
