It was a cold, wet January and the weather was more conducive to indoor sports. Most of our play was reduced to the 2 pm session when you could feel a little of the warmth from the sun. Robert Norwood is back on a regular basis after his successful hip operation and the "bio" hip is giving him the edge at the net. The level of play has been increasing and we could form at least 6 double teams to play competitively with some other senior communities. We are trying to set up a friendly tournament with another community in the Temecula area and time of writing we are waiting to hear from them. We have a really friendly group and if you can move and swing your arms, you are a good candidate for Paddle Tennis. For information, call Diana (909) 210-9357 or Alan (310) 251-9269. ~ Diana Johnson Ali FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2016 43 Paddle Tennis Do you like basketball? Would you like to play with a group or with friends? We would like to have you. No experience is necessary. Just a desire to play, get exercise, and have fun. We are fortunate to have a great court to play on. We're a group of men and women, young, old, and in the middle who like to have fun playing basketball. If you have any questions, call Richard Hoffman at (310) 869- 8069, or inquire at the Lodge. ~ Richard Hoffman Basketball The game of Bocce Ball requires no specific skills or previous experience. You will get a little exercise and enjoy a beautiful view at The Summit, all while having a great time with a great group of people. Playtime schedule is Tuesdays at 9 am and Wednesdays at 3 pm. If you are interested in playing, we will be happy to meet with you about 15 minutes before the game to go over the rules and let you have a little pre-game practice. If you would like to schedule your first practice session or if you have any questions, please contact: Mike Saperstein at (951) 769-7909, Larry Anderson at (951) 845- 8003, or Jeannine Baker at (951) 797-0833. ~ Mike Saperstein Bocce Excuses - we've heard them all Happy New Year to you all! Our next meeting will be the second Thursday of the month at 6 pm. Since our December meeting at Pat and Gordon's home, we have voted to continue having the RV meetings in our homes. Bill and Tanya Guy have offered to host our January meeting. If you wish to join us, please call me for more information. We'd love to tell you about our fun and easy-going group and meet you. Upcoming trips are to Parker-Havasu City in January, Yuma in February and Pechanga in March. A lot of us are gone in April and May. Any questions? Please call Bill Guy at (951) 845-5627, or Jane Jacobson at (951) 797-3563. ~ Jane Jacobson Roadrunner RVers
