Four Seasons Players
| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | February 2016 | 22
Our holiday party was a huge success thanks to Lucille
Gould. Thirty-some ladies enjoyed a wonderful lunch at
the Claim Jumper in Temecula, along with fun games and
drawings we enjoyed each other company. Thanks again
Lucille it was wonderful.
We are a great group of ladies who like to do fun things
and laugh a lot. We would truly like to expand our group
and hope you will attend our next get-together.
Since our January meeting came after the Herald cut-
off date I'm not able to discuss upcoming events. Our next
meeting will be Feb. 22, at 2 pm in the Lodge Ballroom.
If a February event is planned you will be contacted by
e-mail. If there are any questions please contact Dianne
Nauialis at 926-3537, Dianne.nauialis@gmail.com or

Thanks everyone for coming to see The Cemetery Club. It was quite a
diversion from our previous plays, but we think you enjoyed it. I know
our actors enjoyed doing it for you. I know I said we would do a different
play, but upon inspection of it we decided it was not appropriate for our
audience. Recently we were asked by some new folks who attended a
show why we don't memorize our plays. The answer is quite simple. We
started as a Readers Theatre group and over time have evolved into adding
some movements. We only do one performance so memorizing all that
material for one showing is more work then we can possibly put into it. In
addition, at our age memorizing is very difficult or impossible for some of
us. In reality, what we are performing for you is what is called a "Staged
Reading" in theatrical terms. In a staged reading actors use their voices
and sometimes their movement to convey the story while using a script.
It is acting, but not memorized acting. I hope this clears up the question
for those of you who have asked. And we hope you will continue to enjoy
our staged readings. On another note, our next show is in June. It will
be the benefit for the Sunshine Club. More details will follow in future
publications of this newsletter. If you would like to join our group we meet
on the third Friday of the month at 1 pm in the Ballroom. This is Emilie
Ortega saying, "See you around the Lodge".
