| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | February 2016 | 10 Access Control Committee RECENT BURGLARIES Unfortunately home buyers in this community have been told how safe the community is due to gates and community patrol giving a false sense of security which can make us more vulnerable. Sellers don't mention the open golf course and wide open access areas available for criminal entry. Not to mention the vendors, service providers and others who could also be criminals. We have had one recent burglary and one attempted entry. The resident in the burglary told a service provider that they were going to be gone for the weekend. They lost a new TV that wasn't out of the box. Coincidence? Maybe so, maybe not. We need to be careful about who we tell we are not going to be home. Home security must be considered. Internal alarms and cameras are recommended. The good news is that our speed survey, using a radar device, indicates a very high rate of resident compliance with our speed limits. Thank you. I am confident that we will continue to drive safely. We encourage residents to visit our Access Committee meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 9am in the Lodge Conference room. We need volunteers for membership. Forms are available at the Lodge front desk. Contact the committee at email bobbeechsr@yahoo.com. Landscape Committee Four Seasons Hemet has a new landscape company that started work on Jan. 11. Welcome Artistic Maintenance! We met several times in December to review bids and carefully scrutinize many different aspects of each bid. We quickly agreed and make a recommendation to the board. The board approved the recommendation and a contract is now in place. We are happy to report that the cost savings to the community will be significant this first year! Great job to the dedicated committee and board members for their dedication to our community for reaching a decision so quickly. Even though we have had some rains, we are still in a drought! Here are a couple tips: • Review your water bill each month. Perhaps a level pay type plan would be a good tool to keep your monthly billing consistent and help achieve a green lawn at less cost. • Do not water your lawn when it is raining, or within 48 hours of any measurable rain. • Repair water leaks within 48 hours. • Do not allow water to run while washing your car. • Turn off decorative fountains, unless they are equipped with a recycling system. As a reminder, if you plan to change your landscape to a more drought tolerant design, submit your plans to the Architectural Review Committee before the work is started. We welcome your thoughts and ideas especially during this time of drought and landscape contractor transition. If there is an area that needs attention, please let us know. There are landscape maintenance request forms available at the Lodge front desk. We meet the first Wednesday of each month at 1 pm.
