Based on current trends it has further been estimated that by 2020 52 percent of the adult population age 65 years and older will have pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes." Robin Sick's Fitness Schedule BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS Robin will be holding seminars on various fitness topics. If any of these topics interest you, please stop by the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 11:30 am to 12 pm. The seminar is FREE. • March 10: Chair Exercise • April 14: Stability and Balance Exercises II • May 12: Stretching and Mobility Exercises II With March being National Nutrition Month, here are a few tips on healthy eating & staying young at heart • Eat breakfast every day. • Avoid skipping meals. • Select high-fiber foods like whole-grain breads and cereals, beans, vegetables, and fruits. • Have three servings of vitamin D-fortified low-fat or fat-free milk, yogurt, or cheese every day. Milk products are high in calcium and vitamin D and help keep your bones strong as you age. Or take a calcium and vitamin D supplement. • Drink plenty of water or water based fluids. You may notice that you feel less thirsty as you get older, but your body still needs the same amount of water to stay healthy. • Get enough sleep. • Stay connected with family, friends, and your community. FROM THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT GENERAL CLASS INFO. If there are not enough people enrolled, a class will be canceled. If you register at least a week early, we'll be able to save classes that appear to have not met the minimum enrollment. In most cases, we'll also be able to add classes if we exceed the maximum enrollment provided a wait list has been established prior to the first class meeting. Class fees are determined by the number of participants enrolled in each class. For current fees, please contact the class instructor. Due to the number of participants, the class fee may be increased slightly or the class may be canceled.
