The next General Meeting of the Art League is
Sun., March 20 at 2 pm at the North Clubhouse.
The demo artist at the meeting will
be Luz Perez who will demonstrate
techniques of painting water. Luz
specializes in plein air, portraits
and landscape paintings. She is a
founding member of the Plein Air
Artists of Riverside. To see examples of

Lakers and their guests are invited to the meeting.
The winners of the January mini-show are as follows: 1st: Bea
DiMatteo; 2nd: Ramon Salcido; 3rd: Christina Smithburg; and Best
of Show: Ramon Salcido.
Jerry Searcy will hold a workshop on "how to cut a mat" on
Mon., March 14 from 9 am to 12 noon in the Main Clubhouse Arts
and Crafts Room. There will be several mat cutters there so that
participants can try them out. Please bring an item you would like to
mat that is no larger than 12 x 16. Cost is $20 for members; $25 for
non members. If you have questions or to sign up for the class, please
contact Vera Thaxton at 769-1935. The deadline for registration and
payment is March 7.
Our Annual Spring Show is Sat., April 9, in the Main Clubhouse
Ballroom from 11 am to 3:45 pm. Entry forms for Art League
members are available in the Art League bin at the Main Clubhouse
and at the March 20 General Meeting. If you are not a member and
would like to participate in the Art Show, all you need to do is join the
Art League and pay the annual dues of $15. Then you are eligible to
place your artwork in the show by paying $5 per entry.
All residents are invited to join the Art League. The 2016 dues are
