I first want to start out this report with a huge "thank you!" to Maryalice Chorba, who has generously volunteered to be our new head librarian for the Lodge Library. I also want to thank Dave Chorba as well, as he has already been seen carrying large, heavy, awkward boxes full of donated books, into the Library for his lovely lady, Maryalice. Like his predecessor, Steve Bennoff, who assisted his lovely librarian, in no time there will be little distinction between "official" librarian and the trusty "Boy Wonder" librarian helper. We've been so fortunate to have such mighty teams keeping up this much appreciated amenity in the Lodge! Be sure to give them a pat on the back the next time you see them! Who remembers the fun and fabulous classic TV show called "Match Game"? Well, if you used to enjoy that show, then you will definitely have to come down to the Lodge on Friday, March 11 at 6 pm in the Ballroom and join us for the Four Seasons live version of that game. You are welcome to bring in your dinners and drinks (There will be Dinner-Theater style seating with the round tables). There will also be prizes, laughs and an overall good time. There is no cost to participate. We hope to see you all at the True Willie Nelson concert on Saturday, March 19, at 7 pm. This concert is mind blowing how realistic it is! "True Wille" and his band are indistinguishable from the real Willie Nelson! Tickets are only $20 and are available at the Lodge desk. The Social Committee Tea and Fashion show is going to be a unique one this year, showcasing the vintage fashions of the 40's and 50's complete with theme music and authentic hairstyles! There will be a luncheon menu and several vintage theme boutique booths for your shopping and looking pleasure. Tickets will be $20 a piece. Tickets will be on sale at the Lodge Saturday, April 2 at 10 am. Please remember that last year we sold out in three hours. This is the month where our many community service members (District Delegates, Committee members, Board of Directors, Librarians, and others who have tirelessly contributed to Four Seasons to make it the best community in Southern California) are honored and thanked by a small token of appreciation; a little brunch on Wednesday, March 23. If you have never volunteered for community service in one of the above capacities, you can not know the giant time sacrifice that these people make to invest in this neighborhood. As hard as it is to believe, even working their tails off selflessly, does not always save them from harsh criticism from curbside critics. Everyone seems to have their own ideas of how everyone else can do something better. This is where we welcome your constructive input and invite you to actually come and join the Four Seasons team. We need you to continue this rich trend of building a better community by offering your particular gifts and talents in whatever capacity you are able. We welcome your involvement and are glad that you are a part of this family. Please give a hand to your neighbors who are already serving and encourage them for the good work that they are doing. What a wonderful neighborhood we have here! 16 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2016 Activities Director Corner By Cindy Graves, Activities Director
