20 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2016 The Finance Committee held its regular meeting on Feb. 23. The financial statements for January were presented. It was noted that the front yard and Springdale cost center budgets were not incorporated into the report and some accruals did not make it into the report either. A recommendation was made to postpone the review until the March meeting. Jeri Mupo presented her work in reconciling actual expenditures with Bureau of Real Estate budget estimates to more accurately represent the expected 2016 spending. There were no CDs to be reviewed. Wayne Staples provided improvements to the investment format for future use. Wayne also gave his report on the past due accounts receivables noting that the list has shrunk to only seven current accounts. Recent activity on one account netted a small claims court judgment of $3,643. There were six vendor proposals presented and recommendations forwarded to the Board. Agenda items for the March meeting include review of the January (corrected) and February financial reports. Our next regularly scheduled meeting will be April 26 at 1 pm in the Lodge Conference Room. ~ Noel Myers Finance Committee Social Committee The Social Committee has been challenged as we pray for and encourage our fearless leader, Melody Seewoster while she battles cancer. It's an amazing thing when someone going through such hardship decides to preoccupy themselves with party planning! It's all to the community's benefit! The Fashion Show this year is Melody's vision and a great one it is! This year the committee has contracted with an amazing fashion company, that brings to us, the beautiful and interesting fashions of the 40s, 50s and 60s. The Emcee this year is from the company and boy is she fascinating with the historical details of the outfit and the period. They're bringing in make-up artists and hairstylists to ensure that the models have true to the time looks. The accessories are all authentic as well as the shoes and props. It's going to be a great "cat- walk" down memory lane for some of us and an absolute delight for us all! Luncheon is also included for the ticket price of $20. Please don't delay in getting your tickets if you're interested in going. Last year we unfortunately sold out in three hours. This year the tickets go on sale on Saturday morning , April 2 at 10 am in the Lodge Lobby. Now here's something the guys can get their heads around… and around and around… as the hula dancers flip their hips… it's the upcoming Luau on Saturday, June 18. It was such a big hit a couple of years ago with the fire dancers and hula girls and who can forget our own resident celebrity pig pall-bearers marching in with their island wear, balancing a roasted pig on their shoulders! The dinner was delicious, the music festive and the entertainment thrilling! Tickets go on sale May 16 at 10 am for $30 each. Make your plans to go now… you'll really enjoy it. ~ Cindy Graves for the committee
