The perspective of the Artist of the Month Christine Vergara: The subject of this drawing is a Tibetan country house. I chose it because of my general love of houses and because I found this architecture and design so fascinating. True to its location, this particular house is also flying a tattered Buddhist prayer flag and the Communist Chinese flag. I have been part of Rob's drawing class for several years now and I find that I am continually learning, growing and stretching my abilities. Unfortunately, I had to stop attending classes for a couple of months. When I came back with fresh eyes, I was so impressed with how much everyone in the class had progressed and had developed their own style. Some people branched out into color work, using wax colored pencils, pastel pencils, watercolor pencils, just straight watercolor, or even ink, building on the basic skills they learned from black and white drawings. Rob Kelman's classes are relaxing, yet stimulating and very creative. It's just the place to brush up on old skills or to explore something you've never tried before. Come join us and start your own journey into the world of art with other encouraging artists and an insightful instructor. Classes are Mondays 10 am to 12 noon and/ or Wednesdays 6 to 8 pm. If you have any questions call Rob Kelman (951) 992-9156 or cell (602) 571-0414. ~ Rob Kelman FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2016 35 In two years and three months the "Believe…" Women's Bible Study roster has increased to 74 beautiful women of God. However, since we meet on Fridays, doctor's appointments, RV trips, illness, grandchildren and weather interfere with regular attendance for some, leaving a core group of 45. As always, the women who consistently attend are growing exponentially. Many sincere thanks to all of you who make the effort to attend on a regular basis and contribute brilliantly to the discussions. In February, the subject of the entire four week sessions was forgiveness; God's forgiveness, our forgiveness of others, and forgiveness of self. The intelligence and insight shared by this amazing group of women was truly gratifying and beautiful. In March, we continued our "A Godly Woman Is…" series, beginning with hopeful: understanding the word hope, how we see it, and how it relates to faith. We ultimately learned that our hope is in Him, through faith. Next we discussed honesty: what being honest truly means from an eternal perspective, what God thinks about liars, how flattery is a form of lying, honesty with self, and being truthful about God. The next two lessons discussed "A Godly Women is Noble:" what the word noble means and how it pertains to each woman. In April, as we continue our "A Godly Woman Is…" series, we will discuss the topics of peaceful and prepared and why The Word encourages us to be both. If any Four Seasons women are interested in joining a beautiful group of women who love the Lord and enjoy studying His Word, please bring your Bible and come meet with us in the old card room (next to the library) from 10:30 to 11:45 am every Friday. This is a non-denominational study, and any translation of the Bible is acceptable. We will welcome you with open hearts and arms. Hope to see you there! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believe…" Women's Bible Study Creative Drawing & Sketching Class Above: Work by the Artist of the Month Christine Vergara Life Guide Bible Study We are completing a study on how God helps us to grow and mature through our circumstances, and on Tuesday, April 5 we will begin a series entitled "Secrets of the Vine" at 7 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. Jim Seim will be our facilitator throughout this series which will help us to experience the abundant life Jesus promised.
