Canasta #1 Join us for an afternoon of friendship and fun while playing a game of Hand and Foot Canasta. We meet in the Card Room Thursdays, 1 to 4 pm. Each week you may play with someone different, giving you an opportunity to meet other Four Seasons residents and old friends who enjoy an afternoon of "cool" cards. We supply the cards so all you have to bring is your body and the desire to have a little fun. If you don't know how to play we are always happy to set up a teaching table and by the time the afternoon is over you will have mastered the game. All you have to do is show up and leave the rest to us. ~ Melody Seewoster Bunco Hello ladies! Hope you are all doing well. This month we will be having Bunco April 8 and 22. If you have never played, come on out and give it a try. It is a great way to meet some new friends and have fun doing it. So grab a neighbor and a drink at Smitty's or maybe even some lunch beforehand. We meet in the card room at 1 pm sharp. See you there!. ~ Cheryl Burke Mah Jongg Everybody is welcome to join us for Mah Jongg at 12:30 pm on Mondays in the 1528 Building. We accept beginners and offer coaching for those who have not played in several years. A current Mah Jongg card is required but you can borrow or copy one until you get your own. You do not have to own a Mah Jongg set to join the fun, so come on out! ~ Barbara Goodreau Pinochle Pinochle is an exciting card game where you bid and bluff to name trump and take control of the game. This game is played with a double deck of special cards of ace through 10 against other aficionados, to tease your mind, and keep you sharp. Come join the game on Wednesday and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm in the Card Room. Newbies and oldies are welcome for fun and socializing. Info., George Soeten, (951) 797-0254. ~ George Soeten We are looking for players, substitute players, and people who are interested in learning the game. I am happy to teach anyone who wishes to learn the game, either individually or in a small group, your home or mine. Pan is a card game, much on the order of gin in some respects, and played with up to eight people at a table. It is played by both men and women, so men are very welcome as well as women. The game can be played in the day, evening, in a room in the Lodge or in private homes. If you are interested, please call me, Linda Mendelson, at (951) 941-9100 or email me at Goldtoy@earthlink.net and I will answer any questions you may have. As all card games, it is played with both skill and luck. ~ Linda Mendelson Pan 38 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2016 Bridge for Fun Planning ahead for the future seems to be an important ingredient for a successful and contented time in our golden years here at Four Seasons. Perhaps you have climbed that mountain, road that killer wave, sailed to far away places and/or chalked up 100k miles in the RV. The learning never ceases, the socialization is always invigorating and it benefits a healthy state of mind. We are grateful for Candice in introducing new students to this great game. She has the patience and skill to be a well informed teacher. The original Monday Bridge Club gathers at 12 noon in the RCN Building and we would like to have you join us for the pleasure we experience each afternoon. For more information, call Candice at (951) 845-0942, or Helen at (951) 845-9312. ~ Helen Shoemate-Gurley Bridge Bridge for Fun meets on Wednesdays and Mondays at 12 noon. We rotate partners and tables in a party bridge format. We encourage pre-discussion of our conventions with each partner before the play. We support Carol Sternberg in our thoughts with the loss of her daughter. Our Spring Fling party was a bright spot for our members. Thanks to Carol Oliver for hosting the party. Thanks to Lylia and Mike for providing coffee set ups each week. Verina and husband Bob have a great handle on the Wednesday bridge scoring system. Also, Bill has worked out the Monday scoring system. Everything related to scores is working and we thank the above for scheduling and scoring. Monday info.: Bill Guy (951) 845-5627; Wednesday info.: Verina Rector (951) 769-1687 or Phil Irving (760) 447-0007; Duplicate info.: Halley (760) 898-3215. ~ Dr. Phil We continue to move ahead, with new players attending each week. How pleased we are here at Four Seasons to accommodate such an enthusiastic group in our beautiful facility. The talented director, Barbara Rebels, has also begun a very informative class one-half hour prior to the duplicate game at noon. If you're interested, please call Barbara at (951) 530-1523. The ACBL Sanctions Bridge meets each Friday afternoon at 12:15 pm in the RCN Building. For further information please call Helen at (951) 845-9312. ~ Helen Shoemate-Gurley Duplicate bridge
