FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | april 2016 5 By Jeri Mupo, General Manager STAY IN TOUCH: I am sure you have checked out the community website. It is updated regularly with breaking news, current events, forms, meeting minutes, and much more. Just in case you missed it here is the address - www.fourseasonsatbeaumont.com. Did you know that the Association also maintains a Facebook Page? It is also updated with fliers and other items of interest and can be found at www.facebook.com/fourseasonsatbeaumont. We are posting reminders and pictures of our awesome events. Stop on by and "Like" us today! COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS: Each May the Board of Directors appoints the committee members for 2015-2016. If you are interested in serving on one of the committees, please complete a Committee Candidate Form and return it to the Lodge or Management office. The forms are available at Lodge and Management Office, or the community website. INFORMATION UPDATE: Please remember to provide the management office with your current information. We have had several occasions where we have tried to contact a homeowner and the telephone number is out of service or vehicle information is no longer valid for parking decals/transponders. We appreciate your assistance with this request. RECREATION CENTER 3 WORKOUT ROOM: We anticipate that Recreation Center 3 will be open early 2017 and will include a workout room. K. Hovnanian has requested that we contact the community and ask what type of equipment they would use most. Please submit your recommendations to the Lodge or Management Office. You may also email your recommendations to Jeri Mupo at jeri.mupo@fsresidential. com. PHASE A ASPHALT UPDATE: A site review of the Phase A streets was conducted after the seal coat was applied in October and a list of areas that require repair has been created. However, if you noticed areas around your home that look like they require repair, please let us know so we may add it to the list. The vendor has been contacted and is trying to schedule the repair work around the weather. Thank you for your assistance. DON'T FORGET TO VOTE: Ballots for the HOA Board election will begin to be counted on April 6 at 12 pm in the RCN Conference Room. HOMEOWNER SUGGESTIONS: Lodge 1. When you open up the exercise room, please turn ON the fan. Otherwise, by the end of the day the room will smell like the inside of a well-used sock. Staff has been notified. 2. Provide a new music source for the gym. Material being used is not consistent volume. Some songs blast and can't hear the TV on headset. In progress. 3. Make sustained effort to collect, shred, and/or pick up tumbleweeds as this is by far the worst year for them in six years. We have had wind before but not an invasion of tumbleweeds. Have up to 25+ in backyard. Brad Alms Landscaping is retrieving the tumbleweeds as time permits. 4. We need the gate by the pool near the parking lot to be opened via our fobs. We should not have to go through the Lodge for access to the pool, fitness center, or salon. People are coming into our Lodge dripping wet from the pool. Also if you are a handicapped person, you would be able to get to the pool or salon with easy access. Please let's keep our Lodge beautiful. Homeowners are requested to access the facility through the Lodge at this time. 5. Is it possible to have the shuffleboard courts re-striped and painted? Lights too? This recommendation will be considered with the exterior grounds renovation. 6. Tai-chi classes? Please speak with Cindy about putting together an interest list. 7. (Custodian) Felipe (Morales) should be employee of the month. Everyone agrees! 8. A little nightlife would be nice. A jazz trio or more piano nights. Something that goes a little later than 8 pm please. If any resident has entertainment recommendations please see Cindy Graves, Activities Director. 9. Replace shower soap in women's shower. It smells like skunk. Completed. 10. Why is there no entrance to RCN building from back? Fob would be easy to use and the back parking lot would be utilized. It is inconvenient to park and walk when it is easy to make this accessible by fob. Homeowners are requested to access the facility through the Lodge at this time. 11. Please restore the fir tree in the roundabout at Mesa Verde Park in its natural shape. It used to have a beautiful shape and I loved seeing it as I drove to and from my home on Blowing Rock. Now I cringe every time I see it. I don't understand how anyone can find that off-center stick at the top attractive. It's like having our heads sit on a shoulder instead of our necks. Submitted to the Landscape Committee. 12. Consideration should be given to making the parking area at the Lodge one way. People come from both directions and space is tight. Flow would be better and much safer. Submitted to Safety and Facilities Committee for consideration. Summit 1. Change out the bark to rocks around the Jacuzzi at the Summit. The bark, especially on windy days is going into the Jacuzzi and could clog the equipment. Submitted to the Landscape Committee. 2. Put a 4-foot wooden or brick wall on the east and north sides of the Jacuzzi at the Summit to keep the bark and leaves from blowing into the water. The wall would make it more comfortable for residents to use the Jacuzzi. Submitted to the Safety and Facilities Committee. 3. Summit hours match Lodge hours year round. This suggestion will be considered when the budget supports additional staff time. 4. Set of the three fitness machines like the big gym at the Lodge; where each machine has a small TV hooked to it and earphones are required. That way, no one can get the remote from the desk attendant, come into the room and change the channel and crank up the volume to rude levels. In progress. 5. Can you put a little bench out in front of the Summit doors so people could sit and enjoy the view. In progress. 6. More chairs and tables. In progress. DOLLARS & SENSE: At the March Board of Directors meeting, the Board approved the following expenses: • Spa building water shutoff valve installation: $1,600 • Lodge parking lot ground cover replacement: $6,580 • Summit shower door privacy repair: $680 • Umbrella stand purchase (seven): $1,397 • Four Seasons Blvd. crosswalk markings/signage: $3,500 MANAGER'S REPORT
