APRIL PROGRAM: The Three Sisters Farm, located in the scenic portion of San Timoteo Canyon, Redlands, will be presenting the April program sharing with us the family operation using organic methods. Our speaker will be Abby Harned, owner. SEE'S CANDY: Please remember even though we are not in the lobby selling See's Candies we always have gift certificates available. Please call Maureen Keeny at 797-0011 for further information. SPRING FLOWERS: Garden Club "Spring Flowers" Luncheon and Fashion Show will be May 1, in the Ballroom. Doors open at 10 am. TRIPS: On Tues., May 17 a Garden Club trip will be offered to travel to the Pasadena "Gamble House." There will be a tour celebrating 50 years as a museum. The price of $60 includes transportation and tip plus a tour and lunch on the veranda. There will be a one hour docent led tour. It is a three story house with no elevator. Must be able to use stairs. For more information please call Evelyn Hawkins at 845-7199. Checks to made out to the Garden Club please. You can also drop checks at Evelyn's home, 1607 Fairway Oaks, in the bucket on the porch. HOME GARDEN TOUR: Please note that this is a non-competitive garden tour. Just enjoy sharing your garden. This is the year that the Garden Club will be sponsoring the Sun Lakes Garden Tour. The dates are May 20 and 21 from 11 am to 4 pm both days. Entry applications available in all clubhouses. Deadline to enter is April 22. Entries selected will be limited to 20 participants. A $20 gift card to Cherry Valley Nursery will be given to all selected entrants. This is an every other year event and always an enjoyable event to look forward to. FRUIT PICKERS: Please call Carolyn Wright at 797-3568, Pat Shibata at 769-0316 or Janna Waller at 797-3859. These ladies and helpers are ready to pick your fruit that you do not use. It goes to the kitchens in our area that feed those in need. MEMBERSHIP: We accept membership dues and new members at all meetings. We meet the second Wednesday of each month and our dues are $15 per year. Questions? If you did, you will be sorry you did not smack your lips over some delicious chocolate creations demonstrated by Elizabeth De La Ossa, owner of Ooh La La Event Planning. And as many of our programs allow, we enjoyed a wonderful tasting opportunity. Happy Cookers is proud to announce a very special program for April. Ladies, get out your special outfits and hats and come to the "Kentucky Derby" on April 22 at 11 am in the South Clubhouse. We are going to partake of some delicious traditional food pairings consisting of spinach salad, shrimp dip with Triscuits, pecan pies and, lo and behold, Mint Juleps! And do not fret if you prefer not to dress traditionally as they do for the Kentucky Derby. Everyone is welcome regardless of what you wear. We also will have some special fun things. Happy Cookers is a great club with an especially interesting program each and every month. Come and check us out. Happy Cookers Chorale The Chorale of Sun Lakes has something new in store for audiences for our Spring Concert Series. Under the direction of Bill Kliewer and accompanied by Sharalee Boyer, some of our selections will feature the individual voices of several long-time members. Watch for other surprises, too! Our concerts are scheduled for Fri. and Sat., April 29 and 30 at 7 pm, and Sun., May 1 at 3 pm. Tickets are $8 pp, and go on sale in the Main Clubhouse lobby three weeks before the concerts.
