The Sun Lakes Mystery Theater is now preparing for the upcoming production of Ravenscroft which will be presented during the first week of June, the 2nd through the 5th. The play is set in the year 1905 in an isolated manor located in a rural English countryside. The play is lighthearted and could be described as a comedic gothic murder mystery! Bob Bray is the director, and auditions were open to all Sun Lakers which took place immediately following the monthly meeting on March 1. Mystery Theater meetings are held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 1 PM on the first Tuesday of every month. Thank you to those who helped organize this event, and to the outstanding musicians from Japan and from the San Francisco Opera Orchestra who brought their talent to Sun Lakes. Attendees enjoyed the performance, as well as the meet and greet reception with refreshments that followed. The first potluck dinner and game night was so well received that a second has already been planned. Drama Club members, mark your calendar for April 27. The potluck dinner will be held from 6 to 9 pm at the South Clubhouse. The club will provide the main course of the meal and each member should bring a salad, side or dessert to share. Two of our very own, Annette Tringham and Harriet Briant, have been cast in the upcoming production of "Calendar Girls" at CAST Players in Beaumont. Drama Club is organizing a group to attend the May 1 matinee performance at 3 pm. The ticket price for a group of 12 or more will be just $12 pp instead of the general $15 admission. This event is also open for members to bring outside guests at the same price. If you are interested in attending this exciting show and supporting these ladies, bring your checkbook to the April 7 meeting to make your reservation. Deadline to sign up and pay will be April 11. If you have an interest in joining us, in any capacity, be sure to attend our monthly meeting, held at 1 pm on the first Thursday of each month.
