MEMBER GUEST TOURNAMENT: Sat., May 21. The cost will be $135 per team. Now is the time to contact your guest to reserve May 21 for the Member Guest Tournament. Your guest may be any person that is not a member of the Sun Lakes Men's Golf Club. They may reside in Sun Lakes and may be female. There will be two flights, one containing partners with verifiable handicaps and a flight where one or both partners do not have handicaps. Handicaps in that flight will be determined by modified Callaway system. More information will be published later. Save the date. The Men's and Women's Golf Club are proceeding with the issue of initiating a Sun Lakes Hall of Fame. It's true that both of the two largest golf clubs here in the community support this idea, but we have had detractors from the other clubs that mostly play the Executive course. How they feel that establishing a Sun Lakes Hall of Fame award and enclosure close to the Championship Golf Course's Main Pro Shop can possibly detract from what is done on the Executive side is a mystery. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion; it's just that it well may be that the Men's Golf Club and the Women's Golf Club will have take the forefront in pressing forward with this concept. Both golf clubs will continue to secure the recommendation from the full GAC before it can be forwarded onto the Master Board. We will keep everyone posted as we proceed with this important issue. Men's Club Sweepstakes Golf Tournament is scheduled for April 22- 23 with an 8 am shotgun start each day. A pairings party is scheduled for Wed., April 20 at 5 pm . ABCD teams will be drawn at this time. Pari-Mutual waging will be available. Cost of the event is $45. Executive Men's Golf Men's Golf Women's Golf In addition to the eight major tournaments that the club has planned, club members also have the opportunity to play in a variety of weekly golf games. The weekly games are not only fun and challenging, but they also provide members the opportunity to meet and play with different club members throughout the year. If you are looking for an enjoyable challenge on our Championship Course and the camaraderie of many golf sisters, join us in the Sun Lakes Women's Golf Club. We play Thursday mornings and the first Saturday of the month. Tournaments are flighted and a $65 membership fee includes a W.S.C.G.A. sanctioned handicap. All Sun Lakes male golfers are encouraged to come out on Friday mornings at 8:30 am to the North Clubhouse for a 9 am tee time. We play every Friday on the Executive Course with monthly tournaments on the third Friday of the month. Every week you can enter to win $ for closest to the pin. The Executive Course is both challenging and fun with many opportunities to score a hole- in-one and a little prize money. Our next tournament on Fri., April 15 is a 4-Man Scramble format followed by a catered lunch in the North Clubhouse. Tournament winners have $ credited to their accounts which can be used to purchase items from the Pro Shop or Restaurant/ Lounge. Couples Golf Sun Lakes Residents Travelers Coed Golf We have planned a golfing trip April 4, 5 and 6 to beautiful Mesquite, Nevada. We will be staying at the CasaBlanca Hotel and Casino and playing golf at the CasaBlanca and Palms courses. Plan now to join us.
