There is only one game separating the first and second teams. In my last report it looked like nobody could catch the first place team. Sweepers Creepers had 63 wins and What About Eight had 55 ½ wins. At this time the wins are 67 and 66 respectively. The team of Sweepers Creepers is still in first place with Gail Stormes, Marlene Gartman, Larry Stormes and Andy Toro. In second place is What About 8 with Barbara Semic, Joe Emma, Sally Brown, and Warren Hollabaugh. Season High Scratch Series for the men is Andy Toro with a 726. For the women it is Gail Stormes with a 580 series. High Scratch Game for the men is Jim Allen with a 298. For the women it is Jean Hernandez with a 224 game. High Handicap Series for the men is Richard Bly with a 791. For the women it is Barbara Semic with a 748 series. High Handicap Game for the men is Rick Shanefelt with a 300. For the women it is Donna Leone with a 276 game. We are looking for summer bowlers now. There is plenty of room for new or returning bowlers. Our summer league starts May 9. This is a 14-week season. Sun Lakers Monday at Moreno Valley Bowl After Feb. 29, we find team 1 Spare Us leading the second half of the split season. Dianne Everley, Lisa Park, Al Kaminsky, and Dick Taylor are 5 games ahead of "Waters World" in the race to the finish line. Team 6, "Waters World" is comprised of Tom Keheley, John Noonan, and Rick Waters. They are all also very good slow-pitch softball players and great athletes and are very hard to outscore. Thank God for handicaps! The winner of the second half will bowl against Team 2, "In the Hunt" for the league championship in week 32 on April 11 on lanes one and two. Micki Elsing, Lil McLean, Ken Elsing, and Bob McLean await the challengers! We have had some amazing scores on Mondays! Terry Brown's scratch game of 204 and 299 with handicap was outstanding! Her 740 series with handicap was high for the day! "atta girl Terry." John Noonan's 632 was high scratch series for the men. "Atta boy John." High scores for the past five week are: Women's scratch games: Terry Brown 204, Louise Deal 199, and Joan Allen 188. Women's scratch series: Dianne Everley 504, Lil McLean 503, Sue Finta 502. Women's high games with handicap: Terry Brown 299, Joan Allen 266, Lil McLean 259. Women's high series with handicap: Dianne Everley 744, Terry Brown 740, Louise Deal, 738. Men's high scratch games: Rick Waters 255, Howard Esterson 241, John Noonan 232. Men's High scratch series: John Noonan 632, Howard Esterson 588, Leo Gagnon 579. Men's high game with handicap: Howard Esterson 288, Vince Finta 285, Rick Waters 281. Men's high series with handicap: Leo Gagnon 753, John Noonan 740, Howard Esterson 729. The league meets every Monday at 9 am at the Brunswick Bowl in Moreno Valley. We have a wide range of bowling abilities from those just having a bunch of fun to those who score over 200 every week.
