| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | April 2016 | 10 Access Control Committee As promised in last month's Herald, the following are recent accomplishments from the ACC: all community CCTV cameras have been updated, activated and working well; Post Orders (aka standard operating procedures) for our Community Safety Contractor Allied Barton have been approved by the Board of Directors and a training session for all AB personnel will be scheduled soon; and the traffic survey and analysis was presented to the community at the Board of Directors meeting with recommendations for consideration to implement other safety precautions. The ACC is also currently working on several projects: assessing multiple issues regarding inappropriate access to the community including tailgating, guest, vendor, contractor and service provider's access; and partnering with the Emergency Preparedness Committee in planning for emergency evacuation and disaster planning contingencies. Some important updates and reminders for all residents are: • If you are unable to submit your guest/vendor information online, you should call the front desk of the lodge at (951) 325-8188 for assistance. Please do not call the Four Seasons gatehouse. The volume of resident calls to the front gate has increased and has been overwhelming at times. This has created unnecessary delays in logging in guests. • If any resident has a safety concern, please report it to our Roving Patrol (951) 202-4603 so that the appropriate action and/or reporting is completed. In the case of any emergency or urgent issue, contact 911 for Police, Fire or medical assistance first. It is advisable to always have these numbers readily available. • The ACC has decided to follow the City of Hemet guidelines and limit vacation house checks to sixty days within a one-year rolling period. Management staff will not accept requests from homeowners or realtors to have the roving patrol perform vacation checks on vacant/unoccupied homes. Requests by residents for exceptions for extenuating circumstances must be approved by the management office. • Please be reminded that all alleyways in the Legends are designated as fire lanes. Several violation citations have recently been issued in the Legends area for parking behind garages, which in addition to violating the Association's rules and regulations, the vehicles may be subject to immediate tow without prior notice. Thank you for your attention and cooperation in helping us make our community safer for all! Landscape Committee Spring is in the air and you may have noticed we have many little bunnies hopping around. They love to eat the color plants and even the new grass, it's just mother nature doing her thing! We also have an increase in young squirrels and gophers. It is an ongoing battle. Artistic Landscape Gardeners are working on the problem and are keeping our common areas looking good in spite of all this. EMWD is imposing further restrictions on the use of water on what they consider non-functional grass in our community. Fortunately Four Seasons Blvd. and World Cup are watered by recycled water and won't be affected. Many thanks to our Facilities Committee for their foresight in installing this in advance. The Artistic Maintenance Gardeners have a strict daily work schedule. They are not authorized to deviate from their work at the request of anyone but their superiors. If you have any issues regarding landscaping, no matter how small, please contact Michelle Restle at the Lodge. She will be happy to help resolve these in a timely manner. Architectural Committee New Homeowners Welcome Seminar: If you are a new home owner here at Four Seasons Hemet we invite you to a special ARC seminar at the Lodge on Mon., April 11, from 2 to 3 pm. All those who have joined our community since last November, or before, are encouraged to attend. We will explain the architectural guidelines, CC & R's, and answer any questions you have about improving your landscaping or home exterior decor. Repeat — Don't Burn Your Plants: If you have replaced your lawn with rock (like Arizona river rock) you could be burning up the plants you installed. Rock (any size) collects heat from the sun and stores that heat for many hours after sunset. This heat penetrates into the soil and burns the roots of the plants. To avoid this you should have a minimum of six inches or more open space around the perimeter (drip line) of each plant. I recommend you put mulch in this area to hold the moisture in the ground. as plants grow you may need to expand this open space.
