Owners Lucian and Claudia Ardelean opened the new location to expand their franchise and said they were surprised by how wonderful the response was. "Everyone here is so incredibly wonderful," said Claudia Ardelean. "It's very different from other places. People are so nice and willing to try something different." Fast 5 Pizza offers quality pizza at the bargain price of just $5.50 for a large cheese or pepperoni pie. Prices increase with more toppings. Ardelean said they try to always have pepperoni ready, other combinations take six to seven minutes to cook. "When we first opened we were still ironing out the kinks and sometimes there were longer wait times and everyone here was so relaxed and nice about it, we really appreciate Yucaipa," she said. Fast 5 Pizza tastes great, Ardelean said, because all the ingredients are made fresh daily. "Everday we make the dough, grate the cheese and make the sauce from scratch," said Ardelean. "All of our food is gone by the end of the week, everything is always fresh." Fast 5 employs 10 people in Yucaipa and Ardelean said the business will keep an eye toward supporting the community. "We have already started supporting the sports teams and we want to stay active in Yucaipa no matter how things go," she said. "We need the communities support and we want to give in return." The Ardelean's also own the Rialto Fast 5, but the Yucaipa one is their favorite, Ardelean said. "We're even talking about moving here," she smiled.
