| OCEAN HILLS NEWS | APRIL 2016 | 25 Whew! Two more events in March contributed to a stellar month for our new little club, the reviews for which are below. But first, the next event at which to while away a Sunday afternoon: JUNE 4: We are having a Seniors Prom! Yep, it's just as you imagine. A rare chance to replicate your prom look from back in the day (can you say ruffled shirts and big hair? Or maybe pin-curls and blue suede shoes?). Or play it straight and come in your finery. Anything goes here in terms of dress, as long as it's formal. Of this we are certain… it will be a glorious afternoon for dancing. We have booked the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra from South San Diego for the big event. At least 13 musicians — several trumpets, trombones, saxes and all — with charming singers in tow who will take us back to our youth. Come to dance or just to listen and reminisce. Studies show that this is an excellent event for the memory-impaired. So come and join us. Sat., June 4 is the date, 2 pm is the time. The music? Mostly from the Great American Songbook. NOTE: The greater the attendance, the larger the band will be. Matinée Club Members: $10, guests: $15. For all our events just leave a check at the Front Desk and note the date of the event on the memo line. Put your checks in now; we expect this to sell out. Mojalet Dance Collective brought 20 fresh-faced dancers (ranging in age from 18 to 51) to entertain us in March. And entertain us they did. Comments included "Joyous!" "The best show I've seen in years!" "I didn't know what to expect but came away with but one feeling: joy!" Thanks to the Collective and their artistic Director Faith Jensen-Ismay for an extraordinary afternoon. Wish to see more of this company? Once they return from their European tour you can see them at the Vine Theatre in Rancho Bernardo. O'Malley's OH! Follies of 1912 was another triumph for the club. Thanks to all who gave of their time and talent to bring such wacky pleasure to our community. Tip of the hat to leads Scott Goldwasser, Martha Russo, Steve McConnell and all the members of our beloved cast and crew. Special kudos to our playwright, Don Sanelli. Job well done!
