Ten team members vied for the 8 Ball in-house title this month as
Kenny Paine soared into the final matches undefeated during regular
play. His opponent was none other than Roland Harrah (that's me).
I was defeated once in the third round by our captain Del Lyles and
came back to the final match out of the loser's column. Due to the
rules of double elimination, Kenny only needed to win one game
against me, and he did just that.
During the 9 Ball in-house tournament, Larry Rice marched
through 10 players into the final matches undefeated. Dewey Allen
was sent to the loser's column with a loss to Del Lyles during regular
play but prevailed in subsequent games to re-enter the finals against
Larry. Dewey managed to best Larry the obligatory two games and
emerged as the winner.
Anyone notice a trend here? During February, March and April,
the 9 ball in-house tournaments were all won by Dewey Allen. Dewey
is on a roll! Stay tuned to see how that plays out in upcoming months,
and congratulations Dewey.
