The store at 12157 5th St. has a little bit of everything. As you might expect there is steel, lumber, screws and hammers, but there is also patio furniture, candles and even whoopee cushions. It's just what you need your hometown hardware store to be. The Yucaipa ACE hardware has been open for close to 50 years and Store Manager Joe Reiter, photo inset, said business is better than ever. "We feel it's important to build a good relationship with the community and have a reputation for doing that," said Reiter. "In the last few years we've seen different types of customers start to come in as the population grows so we really try to have something for everyone here at ACE." Crown ACE Hardware now carries a delicious line of jams, gourmet pickles, and even popular wooden toys from Melissa and Doug. They also offer assembly on patio furniture and delivery on some items. "We want to keep surprising our customers with fresh ideas and products," said Reiter. Crown ACE Hardware prides itself on being part of the community, and helps out often with supplies, sponsorships and labor. They sponsor several little league and soccer teams and have donated supplies to the city for the festivals and to the fire department when needed. "We appreciate what they do for us, and are proud to keep it local," said Reiter.
